I still haven't had time to shower today and it's going on 8pm. But you for, I'll take the hit. Always.

Son is on his way tomorrow. He's at his dad's at the mo but popping in for the day because we haven't attended a family Xmas for two (? or is is three - I lost count) years now.

We used to have massive family gatherings. Once up to 28 people. It was a big deal around here. Usually it would have been tonight. But this year it'll be a lunch tomorrow because... well... life and a zombie apocalypse and all that.

It's been quite something. Coming "home". And my prior comment was totally genuine. If it weren't for you and some other people around here... and the energy going into the christmassy thing @enginewitty got going ... I would probably have dug my heels in and avoided all this beautiful chaos.

We've all been through a lot. A lot of acrimony. A lot of misunderstanding. And a great deal of loss. But healing (again... entirely because of this community), it all seems less important than making good use of the time we do and can have moving forward now.

Also... I'm making stuff and finding rad (!) stuff for my boy to make because of the In the Spirit thingy.

YouTube videos for days! Well. The last couple of hours anyway. Because I have to make it. I have no decorations. I could use my aunt's (at her place in Hout Bay right now) but since I began the thingy yesterday, in the random Guest House in Somerset West, without anything traditional to use and got into it..

I'm running with it.
