Hello friends, this is my first time of posting in this community. I went through the posts and I discovered the topic most people are writing on, and I must say, it is a very interesting one. Below is my take on it.
THE MOBILE PHONE - THE MOBILE PROBLEM
Someone could say, "How can something of such benefit become a problem?" Kindly read through and see why it is so.
The Mobile Phone is of great importance to us. As a matter of fact, everything or rather almost everything is now computerised, so everyone tends to need a mobile phone. Let's quickly look at the need to have a mobile phone.
THE NEED FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE A MOBILE PHONE
*Communication
*Access to Information
*Convenience and Productivity
*Emergency Use
*Financial Transactions
Now the five things I mentioned above are just the ones I picked. You could see vividly well that people must do this five things, thereby bringing one of the reasons why people would always want to be with their cell phone. This will lead us to one of the problems I would talk about.
There are several problems, but I would just talk on Addiction to the Mobile Phone
Mobile phone addiction is a compulsive or uncontrollable use of a mobile phone, where a person feels the constant urge to check their phone, even when it is unnecessary or harmful to their health, studies, work, or relationships.
I am a youth, and I know that what would actual make a young person like me get addicted to his or her phone is SOCIAL MEDIA, there is no two ways about it. Someone could say, "I work online" Yet the person would spend almost 6 hours on social media, thereby postponing the job and procrastinating. Young people who have mobile phones for E-LEARNING would rather spend time on social media than on getting value.
Someone could be awake throughout the night seeing videos and texting with people on social media, thereby preparing himself or herself to be inactive in working the next day. You could imagine that they would even plug the phone and still operate it because they can't let it go. You'd only see such person at a place or maybe sleeping when the person's phone is unavailable. Such person can never be happy when that phone spoils. The person might even want to still or do anything possible to generate money to get another one.
*The best way to solve this is to minimize the times we spend on our phone.
I know a family that goes to bed at the same time. Here is what they do...
They have a basket at the middle of the sitting room. Everyone is expected to drop his or her gadget in the basket before going to their rooms. And they won't pick it until they are ready to leave for work the next day. This method is very lucrative. Keeping the phone out of reach for a while. That is just the solution. Creating a system where the phone can't control you.
With this, I REST MY CASE.
