Find What Makes You Happy First and Let Money Follow

My life right now says a lot about if money is equal to happiness or not. Before now, I use to think it is not equal to being happy but now, I think a bit differently and it's not that I agree totally that money equals happiness but my experiences makes it clear that it does someway.

Defining what happiness is, according to each person on earth, will make it easier to tell if money can bring that happiness or not. When I was still a little girl, I used to think having a 50k naira as my own would make me so happy because I'll be able to buy all the sweets I crave.

Growing older, I wished I had a million naira and my life will be sorted out, I won't have any problems again. Well, I was wrong again because even though I never got a hold of the million, I spent over that before I realized and I was still in search of money to sort out lots of my problems.

But one of the beautiful things I've learned about myself recently is, I have started to change the direction of my thoughts about money. Deliberately not making money my happiness recipe because I learned money is a tool and should be used to better my life, not steal my joy.

It's not that money have really been my centre of reason to be happy, I've always been hustling for money with the survival mindset and I think that sometimes took away my happiness because I would always let worry take over me when I really don't have the money to sort a problem I do have.

Right now, things don't look too good in my relationship with money because it isn't flowing in as much as I want it to but I'm on a qusst to find my purpose in life and build from there because one of the most valuable lessons I've learned about life where money is important is:

"Don't look for money first, look for what makes you happy, what you can do all your life and still find joy with it, money will come from there". It wasn't in this exact phrase but I hope you get what I mean and where you can apply that to your current relationship with money. Happiness is more important than money, money is a tool.

We have to spot the difference and work with it from there. No doubt, the pursuit for more money is unending, until the end of man actually. But people who find happiness with more things than in money, get to enjoy life more before the end and I want to believe that should be our most important goal while we are in pursuit of money.

Money makes life easier and of course, an easy life can be a happy one but we know of people who have this money but still not having easy life, there is something missing and I can only connect it to what exactly they count as happiness and it goes down to their purposes.

You have said it all. Go for what makes you happy. Some people have money, but they aren't happy because they are not on the right path, which is the purpose. This makes you happy and gives you a sense of fulfillment. Thank you for sharing.

Yeah, it's easy life when you do what you love, money is only a part of it.
