MY PERSPECTIVE ON LIE OF OMISSION
Hi great family, I am excited to bring forth my entry for this edition. Last week it was a wonderful with virtually all the topics. My life received a great shift by reading through other people's entry.
I want to thank the management for their efforts in quality delivery of the weekly engagements. For all the participants its been an amazing moment sharing ideas together.
The theme for this edition kept me wondering where and how would I even start it? Which instances do I have to share? The big question is what does lie of omission means? Are there other forms of lie? Oh yes a lie is a lie as far as I am concerned. No matter how is being coated and presented it can't negate the fact that it's a lie. We may classify them as we so wish but it's still remains a lie. I am quite sure there are several religious backgrounds out there with their different perspectives of things but as for my religion a lie is not permitted. It's regarded as a sin.
A lie of omission happens when an individual refused to to disclose an important information. This is a situation where an individual withholds a vital facts intentionally in order to misdirect people. Lie of omission tends to hide the truth by telling a different story or keeping silence.
Lie of omission means giving out false truth or information in a cunning way to make people assume it's true whereas is not. In our world today, there many carriers of such kind of information. There are lots of lies that goes on in many families today in terms of relationships. In a family, you will see a man or woman hiding things from the partner. For instance in terms of money, or making budgets. I know of a woman around my area that makes heavy budgets every week. I kept wondering what is it in the market that she buys every week? Why must she claim that that she wants to go buy food stuff at the end of the day she would start sharing other things she bought that is not part of the budget neither was it a food stuff.
This has become her lifestyle for a couple of years. I don't like this kind of relationship. It means there is not trust or the trust level is very low. This has really crumbled many homes today.
What is bad if the man or the woman says the truth? I think it's high time that the truth be told instead of covering it.
I had the privilege to counsel some families and few persons that want to enter into relationships for marriage. I told them not to hide things for their partners. Whatever you hide today might become obvious tomorrow that could ruined one.
All of us would have at some point say lie of omission based on the situation.
I want to conclude by saying that there are moments where one would say things partially probably to exonerate himself from the scene of any challenge or evil occurrence. I may not be able to identify all the possible lies in life but there are moments where wisdom is very important. We are all guilty directly or indirectly of lie of omission.
