I'm happy to be part of the engagement for this edition. It's been a wonderful time showcasing my God given talent under the umpire of this glorious community. Special thanks to the management of this community for the effort in sustaining an engaging conversation.
I was so excited when i saw the topic for this particular edition which focuses on population. This is an obvious issue that confronts us daily and good ways must be postulated.
One of the complicated matter that has effect on the environment, economy and society at large is population. Whenever you want to control population growth, there's need to deploy the necessary approach for effectiveness. The present economy is not palatable to the citizens because they go through lots of turbulent moment.
Should the government give incentives so that birth would be controlled. Is this a good idea?
There are some many factors that could be used to control birth.
I would like to say this is a bad idea however it could still make sense anyway depending on your perspective. There shouldn't be a generalized statement that would be binding on the citizens in the name of birth control without having its course amongst the elite in the society. If government want to start giving out incentives to families in order to curb population this is absolutely not ok for me.
In my beautiful country Nigeria, there are lots of law that has been created and the low class citizens find it difficult to abide because the rich get excited and please with everything at the expense of other which doesn't bother them at all.
Since i was born and now I'm getting old greater percentage of the laws in Nigeria haven't gotten its footing yet. My country is still a developing nation that focus must be on the ways how to fix other sectors and ensure that things are in order not trying to give out incentives yet that won't even work out at the end of the day.
Every one has a special assignment to do on earth and every family have a desire and target of what to achieve. Allowing the government to decide the number of children you would have might not be real and achievable here because of the multiple languages we have and different kinds of religion. Due to our cultural and other differences birth control should be left open so that you face the consequences of any how the music is.
Before government should come up with incentives for population control they should ensure that most of the facilities should be kept functioning and the economic growth increased before proceeding with such attempts.
Introducing birth control measures by the government will force some families to act in the manner they don't want. For instance if the government says don't give birth to children more than three. They would make provision for drugs to be taken take which could have cause more havoc to our families. Chemicalized substances has been injected into our body system already via the fertilized food, the ground has absorbed so many chemicals in the name of herbicide.
Other birth control measures includes contraceptives, etc.
Birth control should be left open for the family to decide not compelling them to go against their will especially in my country. I know some countries birth are controlled by the government and they are doing well in many aspects of life. There is a man that had more than two wives with so many children. As I type this most his children have grown to maturity helping him to farm. Imagine he had only one child or so what would have happened? Coping with the kind of religion he had which allows them to marry more than one wives. His decision can't be override based on his belief system.
Thanks for reading through.
Good
Thanks
I don't think families should be left to decide the number of kids they want to have, some families will give birth to more than 7 kids if allowed.
Wow ok. Thanks
Thank you for sharing your perspective so thoroughly. I agree that birth control measures need to respect the cultural, social, and economic particularities of each country
Thanks for agreeing with me
The last example you gave was quite apt. If the government wants that every family should have a certain number of children, then the government should also ensure that at least one person in every family has a permanent job.
