Here comes the last month of the year with excitement, happiness, and a lot of pressure to do something spectacular. I believe that worldwide not just in any particular nation, December is the month where many people overspend without even noticing. It is important to celebrate, truly, because Christmas comes once a year and it also marks the end of every year. This year, my plan is simple, enjoy the season, stay grateful to God for seeing me through the year, and do it all on a reasonable budget.
In fact, more than overspending, celebration is not about the amount of money spent but the meaning behind the moment. Now, sorry to say this, but ego and pride are about to punish a lot of people during this period. It’s funny how people put their ego on the line and spend lavishly, then start borrowing by January. That is not a spiritual attack, it is simply a lack of wisdom. So this December, it is wise to take a different approach, intentional and simple celebration. All of this starts with the right mindset though.

As for me, my plan is to focus on experiences instead of expensive outings. This means spending time with family and friends, having indoor hangouts, or even staying home watching movies, cooking, and playing games. These moments cost almost nothing, yet they create the best memories.
Food and gifts are always a major part of celebration, but they don’t have to be expensive. Personally, this year, I plan to cook at home more. Making your own small celebration meals saves money and still gives you that festive feeling. Even preparing something small but special can create that December joy without draining your wallet. For gifts, I’m going with thoughtful but budget-friendly ideas. Sometimes a simple handwritten note or text, a framed picture, or something handmade feels more personal than expensive items. People appreciate heart, not price tags.
My biggest celebration for this season is gratitude. To be honest, this year has been something else for me, but God kept me, my family, and my loved ones. That alone is worth celebrating. God really has been faithful!!.
Celebrating on a budget and having a smart plan is not about lack, it’s about wisdom. It’s about enjoying the moment without entering the new year with regrets or debts. Let us finish the year with joy and start the next one with peace of mind, not financial stress.
So this December, let us choose happiness, excitement, simplicity, and gratitude. Meaningful celebration, smart spending, beautiful memories. ❤️
