Other Factors…

When a child is born, we are made to understand that the Family, the society, and the school contribute to the growth of the child. People would always say that charity begins from home and that is because the home is the first place that a child’s upbringing begins. The parents are the first teachers of a child. They are the ones that contribute massively to a child’s development. Either way, most children still come out and are greatly influenced by society.

When it comes to the big question “Whose fault is it when a child misbehaves and commits a major infraction in the society?” We are left to ask ourselves if it’s the parent’s fault or that of the child. As an adult, I am made to understand and realize that everybody knows what he or she is doing. As long as a person is no longer a child and is an adult then that person should know what he or she is doing.

I have seen situations where when a child messes up you would hear the father saying the mother didn’t bring up that child properly. Well, I think that when a child misbehaves, the fault is that of the child depending on the age of the child. Most children are brought up in a family that disciplines them so much, a family that is built on good values but then you find out that this child would come out and then become a big menace to the society.

As long as one is an adult, they get to decide the way they live and the things they do, not minding their upbringing. I have heard of situations where children with proper home training turn out to be something else not even minding their upbringing. Most of these parents are doing their best to train their children. I think society should most times blame the culprit especially if he or she is an adult and can differentiate between good and bad. Also, if the person can decide for themselves then society should hold that kid responsible for any act, and not put it on the parents.

I have a neighbor whose father is a very disciplined man and when you see him and his siblings you know that these children are raised in a good way. Well, he got into the University and the next thing he started doing was smoking, cultism, and the rest of it. When he was confronted a few times by his sister he made her understand that he is an adult and he gets to decide what he wants to do with his life. A few times she would say this isn’t the way we were trained but then most times people tend to deviate from how they are brought up.

The same goes for some kids who are raised with a terrible upbringing, they grow up and decide to be good and become a better person. So either way every child should be held responsible for anything they commit, as far as they are adults. There are lots of factors that influence a child, so I don’t think the parents are to be blamed, other factors should be considered.
