I suppose I could argue that I am "running late" on doing an end-of-year/New Year's post, but it would be more accurate to openly admit that I simply haven't felt inspired to do so.

But — because I like to "keep a record" of my progress, I decided to share a little bit, a little bit after the fact.

By The Numbers:

2025 Goal: Reach 1,200 Hive Power.
2025 Actual: Made it to 1,051.607 Hive Power.

Fell a bit short there, in part because I ended up having less time available than expected (new grandbaby!) and in part because the ever-declining price of Hive (and associated projects) just didn't fill me with a great urge to be active.

Yes, I know, I should be doing this for better reasons than just seeking rewards — and I am — but it gets discouraging to watch your efforts consistently netting a negative return.

2026 Goal: Reach 1,500 Hive Power. It's an ambitious goal... but it seams within the realm of possibility. We'll just have to see, won't we?

HBD Savings: This was pretty much a bust, thanks to a late-in-the-year tax bill that necessitated draining all Hive savings to help pay the bill.

2026 Goal: Get back to 100.00 HBD in savings. And I'm pretty much starting at zero.

Various Hive-Engine Projects:

Well, Hive-Engine and the various projects trying to make a go of doing something on Hive's Level Two seems to mostly be a long list of failures and wreckage.

I'm sure project founder have noble ideas and nice plans, but very few seem able to carry through to success.

2025 saw the total collapse of the BRO initiative and associated tokens. Thankfully I did not lose a lot in that particular circus; I had relatively low exposure (about 9 BRO and 73 LGN), although any loss is going to affect my very small bottom line.

On the "still alive" side of the equation, I continue to hold a few EDSI tokens, ending the year at 85.687 EDSI. I see no reason to get rid of them, and I get a small HIVE cash dividend every week, and they have been pretty consistent in making their payouts.

So that's one for the plus column!

I still have some BBH tokens (about 5,500 vs. 5,150 at the beginning of the year) but like many things, they lost about 50% of their value. Not really planning to put much effort into accumulating more of them, but I do like the small weekly dividend distributions. It all adds up!

I'm also holding on to about 35 DAB tokens, also because they pay out a small daily dividend in HIVE... all these tiny amounts do edd up to something!

I didn't really have any available cash to get in on @inleo's SURGE tokens, although the idea sounds appealing from a diversification perspective. I only had 1.479 SURGE, but might add bits and pieces along the way.

I'll end this with quick coverage of any "other" Hive-Engine tokens I managed to end up with "more than a few" of:

BEE: Started 2025 with 118.895; ended with 212.243; 2026 Goal is 300.00.
POB: Started 2025 with 8,682.001; ended with 9,431.001; 2026 Goal is 10,000.00.
ALIVE: Started 2025 with 716.533; ended with 1,730.545; 2026 Goal is 2,500.00.
BBHO: Started 2025 with 163.489; ended with 1,173.270; 2026 Goal is 1,500.00.

Most of the rest are pretty "minor" and only worth a few cents, for hundreds or even thousands of tokens.

Pleasant surprise of the above would have to be ALIVE, which has held its value remarkably well, and now throws off a tiny daily dividend, as well.

And I think that's where I'm going to leave this for the record books, so I have something to look back on, come the end of 2026!
