The story of your past is very sad. I salute your patience.
See, such people can do this again, if someone has thought something bad about us earlier, that means he can do it again, so we should always stay away from him. My heart aches just thinking about how you would have spent those 2 days outside.
I also agree with you that one should never depend on anyone. Expectation is the cause of disappointment.

It wasn't a friendly experience at all, I had to deal with fear of the unknown, coupled with torment from mosquitos.
