Why comments are important

Meaningful comments are the backbone of Hive. They show engagement, create connections, and bring conversations to life. It shows someone read your post, took the time to think, and wanted to share their thoughts. That’s what builds real connections. That’s what makes Hive feel alive.

Meaningful comments are often under-rewarded. Especially compared to the rewards that blog posts can get. We believe that when someone takes the time to read a blog and writes a meaningful reply, they deserve to be rewarded for that. With the @topcomment curation service, we upvote high-quality, engaging comments so engagement gets rewarded.

How Topcomment works!

The Topcomment curation team performs manual curation. We collect longer comments via a script in our curation Discord channel, but we do check every comment if it deserves an upvote.
Just commenting "Great post!" doesn't meet the requirements. The commenter should genuinely engage with the blog they are responding to. It must show that the blog has been read.
We upvote comments in all languages, so AI translations are not needed. We don't upvote comments that are or seem AI generated.
We also avoid upvoting comments on controversial topics such as wars, politics, hate, or conspiracy theories.

Nominating comments

There are quite a lot of comments on Hive daily and unfortunately we cannot upvote them all.
What you can do is nominate a comment you think deserves an upvote from us. This can be a comment on your own post, but also on someone else's. You only cannot nominate your own comment 😉
You can nominate a comment by replying to that comment and mentioning @topcomment
A nomination doesn't mean the comment always gets an upvote. It does have to comply with our rules for upvoting and we do need to have enough Voting Power.

Support @topcomment with a delegation

We want to give away high upvotes, but to do this we need your support!
