It sounds good - pleased for you.

I was astonished when I realised how many steps I do when I'm travelling from one area of the country to another. I thought I wouldn't be doing many, sitting in the car all day, but it turned out, when I remembered to check, to be 12,000 steps. All walking to and from various car parks to get a coffee and back 😂

Yes, I'm feeling much better so it's great that it all goes quite naturally.

I can imagine that you hit that number during these days though, I've had some similar situations where I went well above 10k. Usually for me though, this always meant I'd pay for it the next day or two with pain. But working my way up with 1000 steps goal at a time after hitting a higher number for a bit, I assume that will slowly get easier for my back and knees.

If I'd aim for 10k now daily, I would be recovering too long constantly. So as they say here "poco a poco". :)

I agree, taking it little by little is important, and making sure you get plenty of rest days if you do have a more active day. I guess my point was that sometimes we're doing a lot of steps without realising (until maybe the next day). Hope you continue to improve and enjoy more pain-free days 😍
