I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by the number of Hive related projects that fall by the wayside after a little time has passed.
I have long been a user of the BeeSwap application here on Hive because I find that it was always a quicker and easier interface to use to access things on Hive-Engine than either Tribaldex or Hive-Engine proper.
So, a couple of days ago instead of getting the usual BeeSwap interface I found myself looking at the parking placeholder of a domain name service (see image above).
I gave it a couple of days before deciding to write about it because — after all — sometimes people forget to pay their domain subscription, or the credit card on file has expired and needs to be updated and you don't necessarily get to it on time.
But since I'm still getting the domain squatter's placeholder page I guess we have to assume at this point that something is left-of-center at BeeSwap.
I have checked around for update posts but they don't seem to be any. Not that that's surprising, either, since most Hive project holders seem very reluctant to communicate anything going on with their projects.
I do sincerely hope this doesn't mean the end of what was actually quite a good service for the Hive ecosystem. I like to use BeeSwap because it enabled me to access not only Hive-Engine tokens but also my liquidity pool investments from a single location. And, as I said before, the interface moved a lot faster than the alternatives.
I guess all we can do at this point is just sit back and wait and see if there's some kind of announcement or the service comes back up. I'm not going to hold my breath on that one, however!
What does cause me pause for thought is that BeeSwap "lived" on the dCity domain, making me wonder whether the dCity game is also history, at this point.

I remember seeing things about BeeSwap and also dCity on here, but I had to do a little research to find anything on dCity, and it seems to be gone since last October.
This thread is from back them, and there was supposed to be a distribution of tens of thousands of Hive but I don't know if that happened or not.

While some devs have closed things down, there are other devs doing a lot of work on HIVE lately. Check out @beggars and @sagarkothari88 for example, to see their projects. Both worth a follow in my opinion.
Long Live Hive!
Have a nice weekend!

Thanks for the additional information about dCity. I know it seemed to be slowly grinding down, even a couple of years ago. Thankfully, I wasn't a holder of much of anything... I guess I'll just send what little SIM I have to @null and get it out of circulation.
I've come across updates from both @beggars and @sagarkothari88 not so long ago; but I'll definitely have a second look!

That's a big shame if it's gone, it was the Hive Engine page I found easiest to use, particularly for checking token prices.
Same here. It was easier to use, and it moved a lot faster... you didn't have to wait for a transaction to complete before moving on to the next one; very handy when you were staking a bunch of tribal token "remnants."
Too bad it is gone.

Well, he's got a point. Sometimes it feels like it would be better to just go plant vegetables...

Es una pena ver caer proyectos tan útiles como BeeSwap; su interfaz era realmente la mejor.
It's a shame to see such useful projects like BeeSwap fade away; its interface really was the best.
I am very sad to see it disappear. Too many projects on Hive do that...

Very sad having another project at hive ending...
Particularly sad when it was a fairly useful and popular project.
