Revisiting my Hive Goals... a Little

Like many, I set myself a few 2026 basic goals for my Hive activities at the beginning of the year. I don't go into a great deal of specific detail with that, mostly because I don't believe in putting myself in a situation of undue pressure when things suddenly go sideways.

Since we're about to be five months into 2026 I thought I would take a quick moment to look at some numbers I said I wanted to reach and see how I'm doing... and evaluate whether I need to revise what I thought was within the realm of possibility.

Hive power itself: I set myself a loose goal of reaching 1,500 HP by December 31st and I'm going to leave that standing, as I'm currently sitting at about 1,227 HP with seven months to go. I'm a little behind schedule, but not enough for me to abandon the possibility of making my goal.

I also was hoping to save up 100 tokens in HBD savings, but that's probably not going to happen — particularly since HBD is no longer being paid out as part of our rewards. As of right now, I just have 1.888 HP.

The remainder of my goals had to do with Hive's second layer — or what we might call HiveEngine projects.

BEE: one of the things I decided early on, was that if I was going to support the second level projects with their tokens I was going to support the framework within which many of them run — that is to say Hive-Engine — and thus it's token BEE.

My goal for 2026 was to get to 300 BEE tokens and currently I'm a little over 240 so I'm on my way and progressing slowly.

I also have 14.31 WORKERBEE governance tokens. It's not much, but it's something.

POB: somewhat successful with that one — my goal for 2026 was to make it to 10,000 POB tokens staked, and I have already made it to 10,222 tokens staked, as I write this. I'm just going to "take the win" rather than increase the goal... that way I can also shift my attention towards things where I'm falling short.

ALIVE: my goal there was to get to 2,500 tokens by year end, and as I write this I am at 1,941. So I have a ways to go and I'm progressing somewhat slower than I thought I might. Still, going to keep that goal in place as is.

BBHO & BBH: Another one that has gone well... my goal for 2026 is to get to 1,500 BBHO tokens staked, and I am already at 1,596! So that's actually going pretty well and I think I might revise my goal upwards to reach 2,000 instead.

Along the same lines, I've also managed to get to 10,509 BBH tokens, which is already a little above my 2026 estimate of $10,000 although I didn't set it as a formal goal.

EDSI: since the whole Brofund system crashed last year (when Ray went off the reservation), I've been putting a little bit aside into the "Eddie Earner" project which an established older Hive investment scheme that offers a modest weekly dividend. I started the year with 85.6 EDSI tokens and I have managed to make it to 115.7 tokens as of now.

Since these aren't things you earn through your social blogging efforts I'm limited by whatever loose liquidity I have available and that tends to be very little. I didn't set a formal goal for this but at this point I am hopeful that I can get to 150 tokens by the end of the year, which will give me a nice little weekly dividend in Hive.

Sadly, I am going to have to regard anything I had invested in the LeoFinance/Inleo group of projects as a lost cause at this point. I think they — once again — overreached with what they wanted to accomplish, and when the crypto markets in general turned sour the wheels came off.

And that's about it... perhaps not the world's most interesting reading, but it is my blog after all, and I like to occasionally "benchmark" my progress so I have something to look back on and compare. Don't expect I'll be doing another one of these till the end of the year.

In any case, thanks for the visit, and till the next one!

I've seen your posts and always imagined that you were one of the big players.

The HE coins proved to be a big disappointment.

Many of the coins have bottomed out. So, it is probably a good time to buy some.

CCC and VYB crashed hard a few years ago, but have been holding their own with a fair amount of patronage. PHOTO is probably a good buy as well.

There's a huge number of people using creativecoin keywords.

VYB triggers on the #POB keyword. the coins are autostaked. Most users don't take the time to unstake and sell their VYB. that means less float.

VKBT seems to trigger on everything and seems to have active support. You can pick up 10K VKBT for a HIVE.

STEM crashed recently. The number of stem posts has dropped significantly.

If you want to play bottom feeding games, you might be able to pick up huge positions in failed coins. I've stacked several million HE coins; so my curation upvote gives out all sorts of strange things.
