Hard times have a way of spreading to the point of touching virtually everyone, in some fashion. Maybe undertakers are the only people whose business is not hurt by down markets... perhaps a bit macabre, but still...

"Locally" speaking, a little over a week ago there was an announcement from the @leostrategy account that cash payments on their family of tokens were being "restructured."
I'm not passing judgment on that, but the effect is that those of us who had been receiving daily/weekly dividends now are getting none. Sure, the dividends are allegedly being rolled into an attempt to re-peg these tokens, but the net effect remains that where we got something before, we now get nothing.
The last few days, I've notived that the typically quite regular daily payments from my small holding of DAB tokens have stopped. In that case, no announcement.
It's easy to go the "benefit of doubt" place and think that maybe they are just having technical difficulties, or something like that. Not going to hold my breath, though!
I have reached a point where such events are merely information to me, because I have released any and all expectations with respect to Hive and things Hive-related. Same goes for the broader Cryptosphere.
In a sense, I'm merely living out the old advice to not invest more than you can afford to lose... and so, I arrive at my position from the viewpoint that anything better than a total loss is a win.
While it's fun to see what I can build with whatever crumbs come my way, my primary motivation these days is to be part of Hive because I really enjoy writing, and having my own little thought experiments and explorations that I can share here, regardless of whether anyone actually ends up reading them.
One of the things I have noticed about the power of LETTING GO is that I actually am commenting and participating more around the community. And that has to be a good thing, right? Particularly in view of the fact that activity tends to drop off as the price of Hive declines...
