Another Holiday event completed, one more to go!
Our tables at the fair
It was my intention to try creating a "live update" from the show yesterday, but ran into the small snag that the building the Spiritual Center is located in is largely metal, with a metal roof, and it works rather like a giant Faraday Cage so there was zero cell phone reception inside the event hall... and it really wasn't viable to run outside to get reception.
I suppose I could have created a wifi Hotspot with our sales terminal, but I just wasn't that dedicated.
It was just a good example of how we should always be prepared to deal with unexpected circumstances!
View of the event... fairly small scale
Anyway, we ended up with what I would call "fair" results over the two days. I suspect we lost some business Saturday morning, thanks to a torrential downpour that lasted around two hours. This may be "the rainy Pacific Northwest," but people aren't exactly lining up to go out in the rain and get soaked... even for a Christmas market.
Most of our sales were made up by very small sales... lots of people were happily spending $6-$10 on my very smallest items — for which I am grateful, because those pay the booth fees and lunch — but there was a relative absence of somewhat larger sales.
In fact, it was the first event since resuming "after Covid" that we had a show without a single sale over $100.
Not sure whether to feel alarmed about that, or just grateful that we did as well as we did. I am choosing the latter, and hoping that next weekend's "Big" even to end our season will help the cause enough that we at least end up doing the same business as in 2023.
Of course, there is "no rest for the weary!"
Tomorrow afternoon, I will be heading out on our local beach — come rain or shine — to try to fine more blank stones for two of our most popular low price items which all but sold out this weekend.
If what it takes to make the day is a bunch of $6 heart stones, then that is what I will do!
Need to make more of these!
For now, though, I feel quite exhausted after two days of "peopling" so having a few quiet days at home will be very welcome, even if I will be quite busy, creatively speaking.
I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Because I am trying to make some semblance of income — a part time living, even — I now add this footer to all my posts, in the hope that someone, somewhere, might decide to take a further look at my work, and perhaps consider supporting independent art.
Thank you, in advance, for your consideration and support!
