Hola querido hiver.

En el post que escribí cuando preparaba la maleta decía que pensaba contar por aquí lo que vaya sucediendo en los Hive Open Days. Más que nada para no olvidarme de esos detalles en los que me suelo fijar y que en estas próximas jornadas serán tan abundantes que tendrán que luchar entre ellos por sobrevivir.

El caso es que todavía no ha pasado media hora desde que salí de Zaragoza y ya tengo un par de anécdotas. 😂 Escribo estas líneas desde mi asiento en el AVE en dirección a Madrid. La conexión más rápida y cómoda para viajar en tren hasta Alicante requiere dar un rodeo pasando por el centro de España, debido a la organización radial en las comunicaciones ferroviarias de alta velocidad.

Anécdota número 1

El tren sale con retraso. Bueno, quienes conozcan la realidad actual del transporte ferroviario en España saben que esto es una noticia corriente. El retraso no ha sido mucho, unos diez minutos, pero nos hemos mezclado pasajeros de dos trenes distintos en la misma cola de embarque y ha sido un poco lioso. Menos mal que tuve la precaución de organizar el transbordo con tiempo ampliado, prefiero prevenir que estresarme, jeje.

Anécdota número 2

Me he dejado en casa el libro electrónico. ¡Horror! Mira que he hecho viajes y nunca me había pasado que yo recuerde. Uno de los motivos por los que viajo en tren siempre que puedo es porque me encanta leer en ellos mientras miro de vez en cuando por la ventanilla. En fin, seguro que en Madrid encontraré algún comercio donde vendan libros para hacer más amena la segunda etapa del camino y la vuelta.

Anécdota número 3

Parece que la ley de Murphy me persigue. La estación de tren en la que hago el transbordo está en obras de remodelación y no hay tiendas en las que comprar nada.

Llegada a Alicante

El segundo tramo del viaje transcurre sin sobresaltos. Llego al alojamiento sin dificultad, dejo el equipaje y en poco más de media hora estoy en el lugar del evento.

Me sumerjo en los Hive Open Days

El sistema mágico de comunicaciones no ha funcionado como se esperaba, veremos si puede arreglarse. Eso ha llevado a que no haya podido hablar tanto con otros usuarios, incluso tengo pendiente de saludar a alguno por no darse el momento apropiado.

El tiempo pasa volando y vamos a cenar a una hora temprana para lo acostumbrado. Me doy cuenta de que no hago muchas fotos porque prefiero estar más presente en los momentos que estoy viviendo.

Estos diarios van resultar algo caóticos. Parte de la magia de este viaje es compartir en el blog esos fugaces momentos y situaciones que me sorprenden por un motivo u otro. Ya habrá tiempo cuando regrese para volver al formato habitual. ¡Ahora toca disfrutar!

Hi, dear hiver.

In the post I wrote whilst packing my suitcase, I mentioned that I planned to share here whatever happened during the Hive Open Days. Mainly so I don’t forget those little details I usually notice – details that, over the coming days, will be so plentiful they’ll have to compete with one another to stand out.

The thing is, it hasn’t even been half an hour since I left Zaragoza and I’ve already got a couple of anecdotes. 😂 I’m writing this from my seat on the AVE heading for Madrid. The quickest and most comfortable connection for travelling by train to Alicante involves a detour through the centre of Spain, due to the radial layout of the high-speed rail network.

Story number 1

The train is running late. Well, anyone familiar with the current state of rail transport in Spain knows this is par for the course. The delay wasn’t long—about ten minutes—but passengers from two different trains ended up in the same boarding queue, which made things a bit chaotic. Thank goodness I’d been sensible enough to organise the transfer well in advance; I’d rather be safe than sorry, hehe.

Anecdote number 2

I’ve left my e-book at home. Oh no! And to think I’ve been on so many trips and this has never happened to me, as far as I can remember. One of the reasons I travel by train whenever I can is because I love reading on them whilst looking out of the window from time to time. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll find a shop in Madrid that sells books to make the second leg of the journey and the return trip more enjoyable.

Anecdote number 3

It seems Murphy’s Law is following me around. The train station where I’m changing trains is undergoing renovation work and there are no shops to buy anything from.

Arrival in Alicante

The second leg of the journey goes smoothly. I arrive at my accommodation without any trouble, drop off my luggage and in just over half an hour I’m at the venue.

I’m diving into the Hive Open Days

The magical communication system hasn’t worked as expected; we’ll see if it can be fixed. That’s meant I haven’t been able to chat much with other users; I’ve got a few people I still need to say hello to because the right moment hasn’t come up yet.

Time is flying by and we’re having dinner earlier than usual. I realise I’m not taking many photos because I prefer to be more present in the moments I’m experiencing.

These diary entries are going to be a bit chaotic. Part of the magic of this trip is sharing those fleeting moments and situations that surprise me for one reason or another on the blog. There’ll be time to return to the usual format when I get back. Now it’s time to enjoy myself!
