Have you gone thru the latest news from splinterlands? Got to know the survival mode is out for testing by mavs and got to read that the land is also getting updates very soon.
Well, these are some great news and will definitely influence us the players as we get some more options to battle and earn rewards.
With conclave arcana is also scheduled for release by end of quarter 1 on mid of quarter 2, it's waiting period right now and i am sure you will also agree with me on this.
Per the updates on land, it is mentioned that, the new update will have an option to trade grains as grains will be the next big thing in land and everyone needs it to build and craft other elements in the land.
For this week's challenge of social media challenge, i just want to share a battle strategy with usage of gladius cards.
As we know, the gladius cards are the monsters cards we get from gladius packs which can be purchased using the merits we earn from guild brawl battles.
Just like normal core sets, gladius packs will also have 5 cards and there are gold foil version for each of these.
And just like potions for regular packs, bloodstones are required for having better chance of getting legendary and gold foiled cards.
The battle strategy i am sharing includes monsters from water splinter and neutral cards and strategy is for magic monsters who are so frustrating to get rid of and in this battle i use non magic cards to win this battle with lineup as below.
There was a cap of 19 mana cost for this and there was only 1 ruleset of close range which means monster with ranged attack can also battle from front position.
Since the mana cost cap was just 19 and summoners need 3 mana, i was left with 16 mana and i used cruel sethropod as my front monster since it has good number of armors and has 2 melee attack for 3 cost of this monster.
As i had planned to use a tank healer in merdaali guardian, i thought this guy can hold the front position for more rounds of battle.
When there is less mana cost limit, it is always tricky to find the correct monsters as a small mistake can takeout the battle away from you.
As the battle strategy was to use a guild monster, i planned to use this bloodlust monster of isgald vorst as it is an opportunity ability monster with piercing ability and since the mana cost cap is less, we can expect some low health monsters and this guy can be dangerous to get rid of those.
Gladius monsters are also allowed to be used in the regular ranked battles, but we just need to use summoners which support gladius cards.
This monster is almost inline with katrella gobson as this is with piercing and can attack quickly and take out the monsters.
Merdaali guardian is the perfect tank healer as it is not just a tank healer, but can also rebuild the armors with repair ability it has.
It is always good to use a tank healer to keep the front monster active and remaining monsters can attack from second line.
And if we use this monster adjacent to a monster with weapons training ability, it can even get the attack type the monster with weapons training ability has.
Lastly, used this 2 mana cost monster as only 2 cost was left to be filled after selecting the monsters as i mentioned above.
This monster which is a level 3 monster, can attack with ranged attack and even 1 attack is also important sometimes to win the battle.
With that limited number of monsters, i won this battle rather comfortably as the bloodlust monster of isgald vorst was instrumental in this win since it is with opportunity ability and targets the monsters with lowest health and it's piercing ability will always be handy when monsters it attacks have the armors.
The battle lasted for 6 rounds and finally i won it with the help of isgald vorst and not to forget the armor building and health regaining ability of merdaali guardian.
