artisans and drama

Hello everyone, today, I will be talking about the problems with artisans in Nigeria. However, I don’t know if this is happening in other countries.

I know I’m not the only one who has faced this. I’m sure a lot of people have also faced this. Many times, I have found artisans who are really good at what they do, paid them well, thinking that, okay, I’m good to go, and there shouldn’t be any problems. But then, when it is time for me to get what I paid for, it is always a big struggle. They are always missing deadlines and stretching time, and it is so annoying.
It is even more annoying because they see it as nothing and do not even let me talk about how they try to cheat you with the prices of materials.

I have been dealing with one since May and up until now which is July he still hasn’t delivered what I paid for. What I’ve been getting is excuse after excuse. Funny how they do not know the consequence of their actions with their clients because when it comes to things like this referrals go a long way but how do you expect me to refer you to someone else with your disappointing behaviors? Like I know sometimes they do not keep to time because they have a lot of work at hand but, why do they keep collecting money and jobs when they know too well they can’t keep to time because they have a lot going on already. They take more Projects they can handle which always lead to long-term delays and disappointments.

I know it is not easy sometimes but I think there are many ways they can stop long-term disappointment when it comes to delivering what has been paid for

I feel communication is very important. The man I am currently dealing with is so poor when it comes to communication and he lies a lot. I feel artisans should be straightforward and should always have open communication because to be honest it will help build trust with clients. Artisans should keep their clients informed about challenges and even progress.

Another thing is setting deadlines that they know they can meet. I also feel that when it comes to setting deadlines, artisans should be very straightforward about when and what they can deliver instead of long delays. Setting real deadlines will surely go in line with their clients' expectations and it will reduce disappointment, increase their retention, and also increase their clients referring them to other people.

When artisans embrace these practices which include keeping to time, communicating well, and delivering high-quality products will increase trust and also create happy customers.

Not keeping to time can be really frustrating because I’ve been there and I know what it feels like. In conclusion, when these practices are being implemented it will not only strengthen client relationships but also make their business thrive.

Thanks for your time.
