Why Am I Unstaking All My LEO? Hint: USDC Drips!

On February 15, 2023, my journey with LeoFinance (now INLEO) and the LEO token officially began: I even went back to find the post where I did my first-ever Leo Power Up.

Since that day, 2 years and almost 4 months have passed, and my LEO has gone from 180 to... almost 4000!

Setting a goal worked wonderfully and allowed me to accumulate this token consistently, enabling me to reach an amount that I would never have imagined back then.

The biggest contribution came from the 1500 HP delegation I’ve had active for quite some time to @leo.voter, which at times allowed me to earn up to 10 LEO per day.

Meanwhile, INLEO has continued to evolve, going from a simple Hive community with its own tribal token to a true ecosystem with its own frontend, INLEO, a cross-chain DEX, LeoDex, and a token, LEO, which now has its own native version on Arbitrum as well as wrapped versions on Hive-Engine, BSC, and Polygon — and more.

Until now, all my LEO has been kept staked on Hive-Engine, so I could earn curation rewards and grow my holdings even more.

However, things have recently changed.

Unstaking

I’ve actually started the process of unstaking all my LEO:

Why? The answer is simple, and no — it’s not because I want to sell my LEO.

On the contrary, I want to stake them again, but this time on Arbitrum, where it will soon be possible to earn staking rewards in the form of USDC.

It’s still unclear how much these rewards will be and whether they’ll be higher or lower than the curation rewards available on Hive — it will all depend on how much trading volume grows on LeoDex, since that’s where the rewards will come from.

In the meantime, I want to get ahead and be among the first to try this new feature, which could allow me to add a new form of passive income while also diversifying my investment a bit more. I could use the USDC I earn to invest in some crypto outside of Hive, so I’m not keeping all my eggs in one basket.

Fortunately, Arbitrum has relatively low gas fees, so I believe it won’t be hard to move those resources elsewhere to make the most of them.

Now I just have to wait for the unstaking period (28 days) to finish, and for the release of the page that will allow staking LEO through LeoDex!

Perchè Sto Facendo l'Unstake di Tutti i Miei LEO? Suggerimento: Dividendi in USDC!

Il 15 febbraio 2023 è ufficialmente iniziata la mia avvenuta con LeoFinance (oggi INLEO) ed il token LEO: sono anche andato a ricercare il post in cui facevo il mio primo Leo Power Up di sempre.

Da quel giorno sono passati 2 e quasi 4 mesi ed i miei LEO sono passati da 180 a... quasi 4000!

Porsi un obiettivo ha funzionato alla grande e mi ha consentito di accumulare questo token con regolarità, permettendomi così di arrivare ad un importo che, all'epoca, mai avrei pensato di raggiungere.

Il contributo maggiore l'ha fornito la delega di 1500 HP che tengo attiva da parecchio tempo in favore di @leo.voter, che in certi periodi di consentiva di ottenere anche 10 LEO al giorno.

Nel mentre INLEO si è evoluto sempre più, passando da una semplice community su Hive dotata di un proprio tribal token, ad un vero e proprio ecosistema con un frontend, INLEO appunto, un dex cross-chain, LeoDex, un token, LEO, che adesso ha la propria versione nativa sul Arbitrum ed ha anche diverse versioni wrapped su Hive-Engine, BSC e Polygon, ed altro ancora.

Fino ad oggi tutti i miei LEO sono stati conservati in forma staked su Hive-Engine, così da ottenere in cambio curation rewards con cui accrescere ancora di più la quantità in mio possesso.

Le cose, però, da qualche giorno sono cambiate.

Unstaking

Ho infatti avviato la procedura di unstake di tutti i miei LEO:

Perchè? La risposta è semplice e no, non è perchè voglio vendere i miei LEO.

Al contrario, voglio nuovamente metterli in stake, ma su Arbitrum, dove fra non molto sarà possibile ottenere ricompense da staking sotto forma di USDC.

Ancora non si sa a quanto ammonteranno queste ricompense e se saranno più o meno alte delle curation rewards ottenibili su Hive: tutto dipenderà da quanto crescerà il volume di scambi su LeoDex, dato che è da lì che arrivano queste ricompense.

Io intanto voglio avvantaggiarmi ed essere tra i primi a provare questa nuova funzione, grazie alla quale potrei riuscire ad aggiungere una nuova forma di passive income, oltre a diversificare un po' di più il mio investimento: gli USDC che otterrò potrei infatti usarli per investire in qualche criptovaluta estranea ad Hive, così da non tenere tutte le mie uova in un solo paniere.

Arbitrum per fortuna poi ha delle gas fees abbastanza basse, per cui credo che non sarà complicato muovere queste risorse altrove, così da poterle sfruttare al meglio.

Adesso non mi resta che attendere il termine del periodo di unstake (28 giorni) ed il rilascio della pagina che consentirà di mettere in stake LEO tramite LeoDex!
