Curation Rewards Now Make Up 1/4 of My Earnings on Hive
It had been a while since I last checked my stats on hivestats.io.
The negative period that has characterized Hive for more than a year has dampened some of my enthusiasm and is leading me to pay less attention to my growth — which by now has become a de-growth from an economic point of view.
Today, however, I remembered to take a look and see how things are going: the first thing I noticed was the inevitable drop in my earnings related to publishing posts — publishing 3 posts a week instead of 4 makes a difference in the long run, but it was something I expected and that doesn’t bother me, since I prefer to write less but about what I want, rather than forcing myself to always find a topic to talk about.
The second thing I noticed was my curation rewards: despite a clear decrease in author rewards, I am seeing an ever greater increase in curation rewards, also partly thanks to the almost total removal of HP delegations in favor of other accounts.
Looking at the data from the last month I realized that almost a quarter of my earnings on Hive now come from curation activity: over the last 30 days I earned almost 150 HP thanks to the upvotes I made.
Not a bad result and one that, until a little over a year ago, I would have found extremely exciting.
Today less so...
If HIVE were still at 30 cents, 150 HP would equal 45 dollars per month earned through upvotes: not a life-changing amount (at least in Italy), but still impressive when you think it comes from something comparable to a “like”.
Today, however, the economic value of those 150 HP is very different: just over 10 dollars...
For “likes” it is still a good result — 10 dollars is better than 0... — but compared to what it could have been, or what it was a little over a year ago, well, almost 50 dollars definitely sounded better, right?
And so the result I noticed today leaves a bittersweet taste: I am happy because I am slowly reaching one of the most ambitious goals I set years ago — earning more from curation than from publishing — but at the same time I cannot help but feel disappointed thinking that all these HP earned each month are worth so little.
The discouragement I feel in the face of HIVE’s price collapse is a recurring theme in my posts... but after all these years I don’t know how I could not feel sorry seeing a blockchain with so much potential not only continually ignored by many but, at this point, also hit harder than many other tokens by market trends.
For over a year HIVE has done nothing but fall — and that can only spoil the taste of every milestone I reach here.

Le Curation Rewards Costituiscono Ormai 1/4 dei Miei Guadagni su Hive
Era un po' tempo che non controllavo le mie statistiche su hivestats.io.
Il periodo negativo che caratterizza Hive da ormai più di un anno ha spento un po' del mio entusiasmo e mi sta portando a dedicare meno attenzioni alla mia crescita - che ormai è diventata una de-crescita dal punto di vista economico.
Oggi però mi sono ricordato di andare a dare un'occhiata e vedere come sto andando: la prima cosa che ho notato è stato l'inevitabile calo dei miei guadagni legati alla pubblicazione di post - pubblicare 3 post a settimana invece di 4 sul lungo periodo fa la sua differenza, ma era un qualcosa che mi aspettavo e che non mi crea problemi, dato che preferisco scrivere meno ma su ciò che voglio, invece che costringermi a trovare per forza un argomento di cui parlare.
La seconda cosa che ho notato sono state invece le mie curation rewards: a fronte di un netto calo delle author rewards, assisto infatti ad un aumento sempre maggiore delle curation rewards, in parte grazie anche alla rimozione ormai quasi totale delle deleghe di HP in favore di altri account.
Guardando i dati dell'ultimo mese ho realizzato che ormai quasi un quarto dei miei guadagni su Hive derivano dall'attività di curation: nel corso degli ultimi 30 giorno ho guadagnato grazie agli upvotes che ho effettuato quasi 150 HP.
Un risultato niente male e che, sino a poco più di un anno fa, avrei trovato estremamente entusiasmante.
Oggi meno...
Se HIVE fosse ancora a 30 centesimi di dollaro, 150 HP equivarrebbero a 45 dollari al mese guadagni grazie agli upvotes: non una cifra che ti cambia la vita (almeno in Italia), ma pur sempre una cifra impressionante se uno pensa che deriva da qualcosa paragonabile ad un "like".
Oggi però il valore economico di quei 150 HP è molto diverso: poco più di 10 dollari...
Per dei "like" è pur sempre un buono risultato - meglio 10 dollari di 0... - ma rispetto a quel che poteva essere o che era poco più di un anno fa, be', quasi 50 dollari suonava decisamente meglio, no?
E quindi il risultato che ho oggi ho notato mi lascia in bocca un retrogusto amaro: sono felice perchè sto piano piano raggiungendo uno degli obiettivi più ambiziosi che mi ero prefissato anni fa - guadagnare più dall'attività di curation che di pubblicazione - ma al contempo non posso non dispiacermi al pensiero che tutti questi HP guadagnati ogni mese valgano così poco.
E' un po' un tema ricorrente dei miei post lo sconforto che provo di fronte al crollo del valore di HIVE... ma dopo tutti questi anni non so come non potrei dispiacermi nel vedere una blockchain così ricca di potenzialità venire non solo continuamente snobbata da più ma, a questo punto, anche colpita più duramente di tantissimi altri token dall'andamento del mercato.
E' oltre un anno che HIVE non fa altro che scendere - e ciò non può che rovinare il sapore di ogni traguardo che raggiungo qui.

Ciao @arc7icwolf io penso che senza un valore reale quei 30 centesimi è giusto che oggi siano 6 centesimi, oltre alla blockchain HIVE oggi non ha nessun gran progetto che potrebbe esplodere, o almeno io non lo vedo, solo la blockchain che per me vale 100 volte più delle altre è meglio. Comunque ora come ora sto accumulando sempre sempre e sempre, soprattutto ora che non si generano più HBD e si guadagnano solo HP
