BeeSwap No Longer Supports HIVE/SWAP.HIVE Conversions
As if the situation weren’t already depressing enough, today brings yet another piece of bad news: BeeSwap, one of the main DEXs on Hive-Engine, has officially announced that it will no longer support conversions between HIVE and SWAP.HIVE.
The announcement was shared on the official Discord server, and with it we lose one of the best bridges connecting Hive to its layer 2, Hive-Engine.
The service offered by BeeSwap was outstanding: convenient, fast, easy to use, and with fees that, in some cases, were even positive — meaning they actually resulted in a gain for the user performing the transfer.
Now the only truly equivalent alternative is offered by uSwap, while TribalDex and Hive-Engine.com remain the official but more expensive solutions, and dCrops provides a service with reasonable fees but low liquidity.
I had already talked about all of these bridges in this post, where even back then I pointed out how BeeSwap was one of the best options.
Losing it is therefore a hard blow, one that affects me in several other ways as well.
Arbitrage
BeeSwap was in fact one of the two sources of income from which I was earning a small passive return thanks to one of my scripts.
Now that the conversion function is no longer supported, I will not only have to modify my script, removing parts that at this point are no longer useful, but I will also likely find myself with fewer opportunities to exploit: before, I could arbitrage between two different bridges, BeeSwap and uSwap, whereas now I will be forced to focus solely on the latter.
Opportunities on uSwap will probably increase — because more people will start using it — but I don’t think that on its own it will be able to offer me the same gains I was getting thanks to two separate platforms...
These two platforms sometimes complemented each other, allowing me to perform cross-arbitrage between one and the other — something I will no longer be able to do.
We’re losing a historic service
The bridge provided by BeeSwap was a tool that had been available for many years, having weathered the test of time and the crypto market unscathed.
Seeing it shut down adds sadness and some concern to Hive’s current situation, because watching some of the most long-standing and widely used services begin to fail and cease operations is far from encouraging...
Especially when we consider that, at the same time, there are no new initiatives or projects stepping in to take their place.
At this point, all I can hope is that BeeSwap does not decide to discontinue any of its other supported services, because losing BeeSwap altogether would mean losing what I personally consider the best portfolio management tool available on Hive-Engine.

BeeSwap Non Supporta Più le Conversioni tra HIVE e SWAP.HIVE
Come se la situazione non fosse già sufficientemente deprimente, oggi si aggiunge un'altra brutta notizia: BeeSwap, uno dei principali DEX di Hive-Engine, ha ufficialmente annunciato di non supportare più le conversioni tra HIVE e SWAP.HIVE.
L'annuncio è stato diramato sul server Discord ufficiale e con esso perdiamo uno dei migliori bridge che collegano Hive con il suo layer 2, Hive-Engine.
Il servizio offerto da BeeSwap era eccezionale: pratico, veloce, facile da usare e con commissioni che, in certi casi, erano addirittura positive, ossia comportavano un guadagno per l'utente che effettuava l'operazione di trasferimento.
Adesso l'unica alternativa equivalente è offerta da uSwap, con TribalDex e Hive-Engine.com restano la soluzione ufficiale ma più costosa, mentre dCrops fornisce un servizio con una buona commissione ma poca liquidità.
Di tutti questi bridges vi avevo parlato in questo post, dove già all'epoca sottolineavo come BeeSwap fosse una delle soluzioni migliori.
Perderlo è quindi un duro colpo, che su di me si ripercuote anche sotto altri punti di vista.
Arbitraggio
BeeSwap era infatti una delle due fonti di guadagno da cui traevo una piccola rendita passiva grazie ad un mio script.
Ora che la funzione di conversione non è più supportata non solo dovrò modificare il mio script, cancellando delle parti che, a questo punto, non servono più a nulla, ma mi troverò anche - probabilmente - con meno opportunità da sfruttare: se prima infatti potevo arbitrare due diversi bridges, BeeSwap e uSwap, adesso dovrò per forza concentrarmi solo su questo secondo.
Probabilmente le opportunità su uSwap aumenteranno - perchè più persone inizieranno ad utilizzarlo - ma non credo che da solo potrà offrirmi gli stessi guadagni che ottenevo grazie a due piattaforme distinte...
Queste due piattaforme infatti a volte si completavano a vicenda, consentendomi di effettuare arbitraggi incrociati fra l'una e l'altra... cosa che adesso non potrò più fare.
Perdiamo un servizio storico
Il bridge che BeeSwap metteva a disposizione degli utenti era uno strumento disponibile da tanti anni, che aveva sorpassato indenne la prova del tempo e del mercato crypto.
Vederlo chiudere i battenti aggiunge tristezza ed un po' di preoccupazione a quella che è la situazione attuale di Hive, perchè vedere i servizi più storici ed utilizzati cominciare a non farcela più e cessare la propria attività non è il massimo...
Soprattutto se consideriamo che contemporaneamente non ci sono nuove iniziate e progetti che prendano il loro posto.
In questo momento spero solo che BeeSwap non decida di cessare altri dei suoi servizi supportati, perchè perdere BeeSwap vorrebbe dire perdere quello che, personalmente, considero il miglior strumento di gestione del proprio portafoglio disponibile su Hive-Engine.

Ci stiamo avvicinando ad un periodo di "Crypto Winter" e tutto l'ecosistema Hive si sta preparando, mi sembra....
Sì, sembra che tutti stiano già stringendo la cinghia: se un servizio non produce guadagno viene tagliato... e sembra che pochi si stiano salvando...
Immagino il fatto che fosse così conveniente alla lunga ha portato al suo fallimento
Credo che lo sviluppatore dietro al progetto abbia più che altro perso interesse verso Hive, perchè è tanto tempo che si occupa solo di fare un minimo di manutenzione e supporto. Poi sì, sicuramente le fee basse ed un valore di HIVE ancora più basso avranno eroso i guadagni del progetto, rendendo economicamente non vantaggioso tenerlo aperto (soprattutto per qualcuno a cui Hive nemmeno interessa più).
Never used beeswap, but I did use uswap.app. You can do arbitrage on it as well...
Yup, I used to arbitrage on both, but now I'm forced to use only uswap (which is a great service, but having two options was better than having only one...).
I use beeswap quite a bit. It's a shame it has stopped the conversion.
Yeah, I'm going to miss it a lot... and I really hope they aren't going to shut down any other feature of the platform.
