ohh really. probably the greenland ancestors liked it and they kept the name Greenland. Maybe they are hopeful that one day it will turn out what the name really implies. Green Land. :)

Oh I did a quick search here and it seems that when the vikings arrived at greenland it was warmer and it really had green land. Oh interesting.
