Our Daily Bread

When we hear the word daily bread what comes to our mind is just what we eat everyday or what we do to enable us have access to what we can eat to sustain us each day. According to the Lords prayer in (Mathew 6:11) it also says give us this day our daily bread which also tells us that God is the sustenance of our physical needs.

But today, we are taking it beyond just the physical nourishment, the life we live today goes beyond the physical so therefore we need to feed our spiritual being with the right food which is refered to as spiritual nourishment.

According to (John 6:35) We need to sustain our spiritual life in other to live a life that is pleasing to God. When our Lord Jesus was fasting for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness, the Bible recorded that Jesus was tempted by Satan the devil saying "if you know you are the son of God turn this stone to bread, and Jesus answered and said unto him, man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God" ( Matthew 4:3-4)

This is a good reminder that we need to sharpen our spiritual life every single day because the devil itself does not rest, he is gathering and trying to destroy the children of God any chance he gets.

Let's us be vigilant, watch and pray consistently and fervently, take out days and time to fast and pray for ourselves and also for our love ones and for the kingdom of God in general.

     Few ways to grow spiritually 

Learn to attend weekly Bible studies, home cells, join activities that will always keep you grounded in the house of God. Become an active member not just a Sunday church goer.

Personally, am taking this time to reflect on myself because am lacking behind in so many ways in my fellowship with God, am not active and my spiritual life is going down the drain.

Am happy that I get to find a community that not only let me express myself but also teaches me alot about the word of God and it's principles that will guide us greatly in our stay here on earth.
