Have you ever played banana gins way back in your younger years?
Perhaps some of the new generation kids these days have not.
Im old but not too old, haha, I'm a 90s kid and I'll be turning 30 ny the end of the year. Way back in my younger years, our parents have to go to the city to buy toys, and it only happens when they recieve bonuses or hit a jackpot in farming.
As far as I can remember, I have a doll and she closes her eyes when laid down and opens her eyes when she's upright. I was bought a basket ball ball too, an dI don't know whose idea was it, and I never got to play since my neighbors are borrowing it.
My nephew came, and he got hand me down toys from a cousin, mostly toys they acquired from a fastfood chain.
I call myself toy- deprived, #lol but that never stopped me from playing since I and my friends are very creative. We play pretend, Faith is the mother and Im the child, sometimes we play stores, we buy and aell things and our money ia made with ghe leaves of our mother's plants, sometimes the kids slide on a dumped soil causing ther mothers to scold them after.
But what's even fun is that we make things from scrap.
We make jewelries made of coconut leaves, and we make guns out of taro or banana.
A few days ago, my husband made my kids a banana gun and they had lots of fun.
()
It is done by taking the hard part of the leaf, the bigger parts were used as the base, knife is neede to cut a hole so a smaller tube can go thru, forming whatever pistol one might do.
And also, a stick is needed, whether a barbecue stick made of bamboo, or a dried coconut leaf stick we use in walis tingting. Mothers often scold us from beaking the broom.
Making these banana guns is fun, and even more fun when the kids go hide and fire. Making use of the vegetations in the vacant lots, imitating the war action movies they just saw on TV.
Yet it was fun until our mothers found out about the stains on our clothes! Sending their hands to pinch our side like a crab.
The banana guns brought back memories of mine and my husband's childhood, telling them to our kids and encouraging them to try it.
These days, kids are soaked in online games and video watching, far from the childhood we experienced.
Also, entrepreneurs made their way in coming and making business in the mountains, catching every cent everyone has.
Toys are sold everywhere, big and small, some affordable and some overpriced, haha.
Everything is overpriced, don't you think so?
Anyway, this will be all for my banana gun blog. Im afraid that above statement will lead to a nonsense monologue.
Thank you for your time and support. Good night.
I have never seen something like this before but I think it is super-cute. Now that I think about it though when I was younger we would make weapons, including guns out of any old stick that we found in the woods or yard
Sticks are okay but bananas are much easy to make. One don't need nails and hammer to do so. Banana leaves are stiff outside yet soft inside and is easy to bend. No saws needed
Children found fun with simple things like this. It's the best way to improve their creativity and imagination!

Haha cool to make tools out of fruits. We don't have those type of bananas here but we always pretended to use them as phone receivers.
No, not the fruit but the leaf instead
We don't have any banana plants where we are at. Just the banana in the store
