Wow! Thanku @justinparke for choosing me. This is indeed an honour. You are too kind with your words. I can only say that I love this community and I thank you for welcoming me into it even though I don't actually live in Asia yet. I will endeavour to keep you all entertained as our journey through far north Queensland continues. We have just 3 weeks left in Australia before we sail across to Indonesia. And if we make it to Cambodia we will definitely be knocking on your door π
It's actually a bit overdue in my opinion, better late than never. You've given more of your efforts, engagement, and content to this community than many longterm ASEAN Hive VIPs, hope that doesn't offend anyone π€£. I've always been liberal with the ASEAN Hive rules, even letting the Bangladeshis and Hong Kong folks call this place home if they like. And for us foreigners, I've always said as long as there's a SE Asian connection, your content is welcome here.
Even when I was in the USA by myself, I was posting in this community about things going on there. It seemingly had no connection to SE Asia (white guy in Indiana posting about cornfields and rundown American infrastructure), but I was posting this stuff in ASEAN Hive because I wanted to show SE Asians the side of the USA they don't often get to hear about or see.
You've obviously got strong ties to SE Asia even though you're not there at the moment, and besides this place is the most jerk-free community on Hive π. It would be really cool to link up one day, Kep actually has a sailing club and bit of a sailing scene these days, would probably be your easiest access to Cambodia.
3 weeks is no time at all, be safe on the seas. I can't wait to see the progress of your open water journey.
I'm so happy I was put onto the aseanhive community right from the get go. I haven't had to deal with any jerk behaviour, thanku everyone π. I'm on a little island called Lizard island with a little bit of service. I'm hoping to get a couple of posts in before we leave here Thursday Island, which will be the next internet access point.
