Passing by at Baclaran Public Market ☺️

Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well! ☺️❤️🙏

On my recent visit in Baclaran, I had the chance to pass by the Baclaran Public Market. It is a place that truly captures the everyday hustle and bustle of Manila life. Nestled just below the overpass, this market is always alive with energy, filled with vendors offering almost everything you can think of like clothes, shoes, bags, and other daily essentials.

From the top of the bridge, the view of the market is quite a sight. Colorful tarpaulins and umbrellas cover the stalls, while the streets are lined with people browsing, haggling, or carrying bags of affordable finds. The noise, the crowd, and the lively exchanges between vendors and buyers create a rhythm that feels so familiar and so Filipino.

From the overpass, you can also see different kinds of vehicles like jeepneys, buses, cars, and tricycles passing by, all adding to the daily hustle and bustle of the area.

Walking down below, I was drawn to the long stretch of shoe stalls. Different sizes, colors, and styles neatly displayed, some wrapped in plastic, others laid out for quick grabs. Just beside them, clothes were hung on racks, accessories were laid out on tables, and household goods were displayed for anyone looking for a bargain. It was amazing to see how resourceful and hardworking the vendors are, creating a living out of this vibrant environment.

While walking, I also passed by the Baluyot Commercial Center. This building looks old and worn out from the outside, with vines creeping along its walls and electrical wires crowding above. Yet, despite its age, it still stands as one of Baclaran’s known landmarks where people shop and gather. There are stalls around it too, continuing the market vibe and adding to the bustling energy of the place.

Travel Tips When Visiting Baclaran Public Market

✓ Be ready for crowds. Baclaran is always busy, but on Wednesdays (Baclaran Day), expect even larger crowds of devotees coming to the Baclaran Church. The market area will also be extra full during these times.
✓ Secure your belongings. Because of the large number of people, it’s best to always keep an eye on your bag and pockets.
✓ Bring small bills and coins. Vendors appreciate exact change, and it makes transactions faster.
✓ Wear comfy clothes and shoes. The market is huge, and you’ll end up walking a lot.

Bargaining is common here, so don’t be shy to ask for discounts, it’s part of the fun! ☺️

What I like most about Baclaran Public Market is how it truly reflects daily Filipino life. It’s chaotic at times, but it’s also full of energy and stories. You see people from all walks of life like commuters, vendors and shoppers, all blending in the same busy environment.

Passing by Baclaran Public Market is always an experience whether you’re just observing from the overpass or walking through its busy stalls, you can really feel the energy of the place. And with the church nearby, Baclaran remains not just a market hub but also a place of faith, culture, and community. ❤️

Have a Blessed Sunday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖
