A Meaningful Stop at Theotokos Shrine & Naga Plaza on Our Way Back to Cebu City 🙏❤️☺️

(edited)

Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well!

After our Osmeña Peak trek in Dalaguete and a delicious lunch at Street Side Bistro at Argao, we continue our ride and we took two meaningful stopovers on our way back to Cebu City, the serene Theotokos Shrine in Carcar and the bright evening charm of Naga City Plaza.

Stopping by at Theotokos Shrine, Carcar

This hillside shrine is dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima, under the title Theotokos, meaning God‑bearer.

Though it was nearly 6 PM and the church is about to close, I lit a candle, prayed for our safe trek and return trip, and paused in gratitude for the journey. The hilltop setting is peaceful, with a sense of calm and quiet that washes over you.

I only had a picture of myself in front of the Theotokos Shrine. ☺️

Theotokos gave us a moment of reflection and gratitude.🙏❤️

Evening Calm at Naga City Plaza

We continue the ride and arrived in Naga City. Just as evening set in, I had nice captured moments. ☺️

First, in front of Museo Naga, the city’s pride housed in a beautifully restored heritage building.

Second, in the plaza with benches, wide walkways, and a fountain that still resting for the night under gentle streetlights, it felt serene and welcoming. Soft lights bathed the area, creating a calm, reflective atmosphere.

Third, fronting the majestic Naga church, the historic Archdiocesan Shrine provided a calm anchor for our stop. The church stood silent yet welcoming, its facade gently lit and offering a perfect spot for photos.

By dusk, the plaza felt friendly, safe, and ideal for unwinding after a long day. Naga Plaza offered peace and quiet presence. After a high-energy day, these stops reminded us that rest matters too.

Our return to Cebu wasn’t just about the hike or the food, it was also about those quiet pauses. Theotokos Shrine was a soft call to the soul, while Naga Plaza was a calming finish under streetlights and gentle night air. In travel, sometimes the best parts are the unplanned stops between the big moments. ☺️❤️

Travel Tip:
If you find yourself heading back to Cebu after exploring southern Cebu, take time to pause at either stop. A little prayer or a quiet evening stroll can be just what you need. ☺️❤️

Have a Blessed Sunday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖

Thank You Lord for the blessings and love!

Be grateful in every little/simple things and you’ll find happiness you ever wanted! 😀😀😀

Everyday is worth to be grateful of!

Praying for the safety and wellness of all.

Heal Our Land Oh God!

Lovelots,
@shikika
