It was around 3 in the afternoon yesterday when my baby couldn’t sleep. As I said in my previous post, she likes to be outdoors. She likes to sit on the staircase of the gate to watch birds and the sunlight. Since she is still 18 months old, I should assist her always. She has walked since she was 1 year and 4 months old, but there were times that she bumped into some things when she ran and hopped. She likes to climb too. The gate stair is her favorite spot to step on because she wanna jump.
At 3 am, we felt like it was still noon. We waited for at least 4:30 so we could walk outside, but there was still a sun. The weather was as hot as 30 degrees Celcius. We prefer to stay on the veranda because the air just comes in instead of remaining inside the room with a turned-on AC. Summer is coming. I’m worried about the electric bill if the weather is hotter than today.
My little sister and baby have gone back to the gate because the sun is hot. My baby liked to roam everywhere but I told her that we should go back. She is not feeling well a little because she is teething. She has a cough and cold but still likes to play and go out. She always asked if we could go to the playground, but I told her that there is still the sun that can cause dehydration if we do that and the fact that she’s still a baby and teething. It ends up crying but I’m doing my best to redirect her into playing with my little sister who is sitting beside her.
As we waited for the sun to disappear, we finally got out at 5:09. In the shadow is me who is carrying my happy and excited baby. Beside me was my sister who brought an umbrella in case the rain came out suddenly. The left and right shades are her favorite spots to walk to and fro. We just sit there to watch trees and look at the neighbor’s fishes in the aquarium. She is very amused with fish. There are only a few cars that pass by so I like to be there too because I know it is a safer place than at the playground. Children gather at the playground every day if the climate is good, but some of them bring their bikes which is dangerous for my toddler.
We passed by the neighbor’s garden. They’re wonderful people ‘coz they don’t have a fence and gate but they allowed us to get in. My baby enjoyed seeing the green field with refreshing air. They planted vegetables in their yard such as okra, malunggay, banana, alugbati, and more leaves.
While we were on our walk, we noticed that no children were playing with their bikes at the playground, so I brought my baby there. She saw her peers but she doesn’t like to play with them and she enjoy being surrounded by the adults. She escaped from the playground as she liked to just walk along the road.
On our walk, we saw a planted tree Averrhoa bilimbi Flower, and fruit. Here In Mindanao, we call it Balimbing. It tastes sour, juicy inside, and crunchy outside. It is perfect with salt and hot chili. When I was a kid, we used to eat it at our grandpa’s farm. It was one of my favorites way back then. I was so happy because it reminded me of my childhood. I stayed at Grandpa’s Fishpond while eating Balimbing. Have you ever tried it? How does it taste for you? Is it as sour as your love life? Just kidding!
We were on our way back home at the sunset when my baby could not fight her sleepiness. She rubbed her eyes and scratched her ears. She didn’t like to walk so I cradled her in my chest and it was an astonishing feeling. It was an enjoyable day for her that we do it every day when the weather is fine. I was dizzy when we went back home- maybe because of those restless nights, but when I feel my baby’s warmth, the dizziness just goes away. I’m on top of the world!
What about you? How are you today? Who made you happy today?

Hello Friend! Great to see you here! children at that young age love to explore. It is great that your place allows you to roam around without the buzzing of vehicles around.
