Happy Thursday Hivers!
One of the things I love most about melon is its aroma. I really love the way it smells, especially when it’s ripe and fragrant.
Actually, melon is one of the fruits we tried growing in our garden. The plant survived, bloomed, and even produced fruits. However, the fruits never had the chance to grow bigger. Once they started developing, they would gradually turn yellow and eventually wither away.

My mother and I aren’t really sure what caused it. We suspect that it might have something to do with our soil, but we’re not completely certain. Hopefully, we can figure out what went wrong and successfully grow melons in our garden someday.

Since our attempt at growing melons didn’t really succeed we didn’t get to harvest even a single one but hey, we’re still lucky!
Our neighbor, who also planted melons in their garden, came to our house this morning and gave us a melon for free. Yes, you read that right, it’s completely free!

So even though we didn’t succeed in growing our own melons this time, we were lucky enough to receive one from our neighbor’s garden.

The melons they planted produced quite a lot of fruit, and since they had just harvested some, they decided to give us one. This neighbor of ours has always been generous with us. They often share food with our family, and we do the same whenever we have something to share. I guess we’ve simply gotten used to exchanging food with each other because this has been going on for quite some time.

My mother really loves eating melon with condensed milk, so I added some. However, I gave her one condition: the condensed milk should only be a little because we don’t want her blood sugar to go up. So, just enough to add some sweetness without going overboard.
It is wonderful when you get along well with your neighbors and naturally share whatever you have. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive or fancy. Sometimes, a simple fruit from someone’s garden is enough to make your day a little sweeter.

For now, we’ll happily enjoy the one they gave us, and hopefully, our next melon-growing attempt will finally give us something to harvest!
We’re truly lucky to have neighbors who are so generous and thoughtful. And who knows? Maybe someday, if we finally manage to grow our own melons successfully, we’ll be the ones knocking on their door with a basket full of melons to share.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

Namaste! I am fond of reading books, watching korean, american and filipino series/movies and I am also fond of gardening. I love listening to different life stories and I am always captivated with the beauty of nature so travel is my escape when life turns into blue. But hey, how could I forget my photography hobby? It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am passionate with.

That was so nice of your neighbor to share her melons with you. I could smell it from here, lol. I had quite a few from my garden this year, and they were so sweet.
