Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. Today, I would like to share a simple story about our small ginger business and how this humble crop has taught us valuable life lessons. Ginger may look ordinary, but behind it is a journey of family teamwork.
Starting a ginger business does not require too much financing, which makes it deal for families and small farmers. What it really needs is time and commitment. Ginger takes about seven months to grow before it is ready for harvest. While waiting can be challenging, I find the planting season easy to manage. That is why I always choose to plant ginger. I know that when the time comes and money is needed, there will be something ready to harvest and sell.

Ginger can be planted even in a small backyard. It grows well in healthy, loose soil and does not require complicated care. Just simple maintenance is enough to support its growth. This makes ginger farming perfect for beginners who want to start small but meaningful agricultural projects.
When harvest time arrives, the effort becomes rewarding, we carefully dig up the ginger and wash it thoroughly to make sure it is clean and presentable for buyers clean ginger sells better in the market. Currently, the wholesale price is around 80 pesos per kilo, which already gives a good return considering the low cost of planting.

One of the best parts of this experience is the involvement of my child. They happily help during harvesting and washing, thinking it is just a game. But through this, they are learning the importance of teamwork, patience and hard work at a young age.

Thank you for reading my story, this is my owned picture, Edited in Canva. I truly appreciate you taking the time to read and learn from our simple ginger business. Now, I encourage everyone to try planting ginger, even in your own backyard. It is practical educational and a good source of extra income. 💛
Oh, I didn't know that's long before ginger is ready to harvest.
Seemed like you need other sources aside from this
But, it's good that doesn't need much care.
Yes, exactly! Ginger takes quite some time to grow, but the good thing is it doesn’t need to much care. Its rewarding once its ready to harvest. 😍

Wow that's a lot of ginger! Congrats on the harvest! I've always wondered how to grow ginger because we've attempted once before but failed. Hope you can sell them for a good price!
Thank you so much! Yes, growing ginger takes patience and time, especially the first try. I’m happy this harvest turned out well, and I hope we can sell next harvest for a good price too. Maybe next time you can try again I can share some tips.
So happy seeing your child sis that at a very young age she's involved and trained already in this kind of task...I appreciate your efforts in growing this ginger...it will take for 7 months pala before its harvested...a lot of patience should be putting in when planting this special spice...
Thank you, sis! Yes, I’m happy my little one is learning and helping. In our farm we wait 7 months para mas mabigat siya, hindi lugi kapag ibenta. Kung malapit lang sana tayo, sis bigyan kita pang tanim hehe! Hopefully one day you can also try planting your own ginger sis.
