Christmas in the Philippines has always felt close to my heart. Every year, when I see Christmas trees standing proudly in home and colorful lights shining along the streets, I feel a familiar warmth. No matter how many years pass, the Christmas tree never disappears. For me, it is more than decoration. It is a reminder of hope, faith and the joy that comes with being together.

When I think of Christmas before, felt simple and honest, we did not have much but we had each other. The excitement came from family meals, sharing stories, attending Simbang Gabi, and feeling grateful of another year. Gifts were simple, sometimes even absent, but the love was always present. Back then, Christmas was not rushed it was quiet, meaningful and full of heart.

Now, Christmas feels different. The season is brighter, louder and more colorful. Christmas lights are everywhere, and social media is filled with photos of trees, parties and celebrations. I also enjoy these moments, taking photos, laughing with friends and creating memories under the flow of Christmas lights. These moments are special to me Because they remind me that joy is still alive. But sometimes, in all the excitement it is easy to forget what Christmas is truly about.

As I grow older, I realize that the true essence of Christmas is not found in decorations or celebrations, but in what happens inside us. Christmas invites me to pause, reflect and look at my ow heart. It reminds me to be kinder, more patient and more grateful. It teaches me to forgive, to let go of what hurts, and to appreciate the people who stay.
Being with friends during this season, sharing laughter and enjoying simple moments under Christmas lights make me realize that happiness does not need to be expensive or perfect. What matters is presence, being there, listening and sharing time.

For me, Christmas is a gentle reminder that light still exists, even in hard times. And when I chose love, gratitude and compassion. I know I am celebrating Christmas the way it was meant to be celebrated, quietly sincerely and from the heart.
I hope that such joy and beautiful celebrations will return to everyone. May you have a wonderful time on this special day with your family and friends. I send you my prayers, prayers, and love. However, these extraordinary glimpses of lighting are very beautiful and visually appealing. Have a good Christmas day, thank you.
