The radio greetings of friends called my attention because I did it too when cellphones weren't a fad yet.
Maybe it's usual for the men who live in Visayas and Mindanao who used to have roosters or we call it in Cebuano 'TEXAS'. Roosters the alarm clock for most of us. 🤩
You are right that the sound of motorbikes nowadays is annoying because teenagers have modified the mufflers. It makes the elderly jerk from sleep when it passes by the street near you.
Cats and dogs are our constant companions when something is off in our surroundings. Dogs are our guards especially at night.
