There are weeks when life feels extra full and this past week has been one of those for us.

My husband and I have been busy working on our small room unit for rent. We currently have two units, and the other one has just been vacated and needed some fixing, cleaning, and a little love to make them ready again. We didn’t hire anyone. We simply worked side by side, doing what we could with our own hands. Hubby added some overhead shelving on the kitchen sink.

I’m really grateful because my husband knows a lot when it comes to building and repairs. He took on the big job of fixing the ceiling. He removed the old one and replaced it from plywood to hardiflex all by himself. It wasn’t easy, but he patiently worked on it until it was done.

While he handled the ceiling, I worked on the outside painting the walls and cleaning up the sliding windows. I tried to make everything look clean, simple, and welcoming. Little by little, we saw the place improve. Hubby did the final cleaning always finishing up after me. Checking out and making sure everything is clean.

Because He is so hardworking I made refreshments for us, mango shake! Perfect for this hot summer days. The mangoes came from our orchard, we were lucky that we were able to harvest some what's left of them after our friendly neighbors have harvested already!😄

We are also slowly working on adding five more units in the future. This is part of our plan for retirement something that can give us steady income someday. But for now, we take it one step at a time. We can’t really spend too much yet because our son is still in college, and his needs come first.
This little project is truly a blessing for our family. The rent we earn from our units helps us pay for my son’s apartment, especially now that he will be an incoming fourth-year student this coming August. Knowing that we have something to support him gives us peace of mind.

In times like these, having an extra source of income really helps. It may not be big, but it makes a difference. It helps us stay on track, meet our responsibilities, and worry a little less.
More than anything, I’m thankful for this experience. Working together as husband and wife, helping each other, and building something for our future it may be tiring, but it is also very fulfilling.

Thank you for dropping by and hope to see you on my next post.

I love this. When couples work together, they achieve a lot.
By simply doing the repairs in the unit by yourselves, you've gained extra knowledge and equally saved some money.
I can imagine the amount of love and patience poured into fixing the unit, and I hope whoever rents it will appreciate it.

Thank you deary. Yes we had a new occupant now. A young couple both 24 years old, just starting out on their married life. They are very happy with the unit. They like how cozy and homey the vibe of the unit is for they are both working on a BPO company, both asleep in the morning and awake at night.☺️😍
