My 30-Day Backyard Garden Challenge: Day 7-Learning Patience Through My Little Garden

Purple White and Blue Illustrated Geometric Family Travel Scrapbook.png

Hello everyone! I started this 30-Day Backyard Garden Challenge as a personal motivation for myself. I wanted to challenge myself to plant different seeds, observe their growth, and document their journey from the day I planted them, after one week, and after one month.

I was excited to see how these tiny seeds would slowly grow into healthy plants. For me, this challenge was not only about growing vegetables but also about creating a peaceful space where I could relax, learn, and enjoy the beauty of nature.
But as the days passed, I realized that taking care of a garden also requires time, patience, and commitment.

Because of my many responsibilities, I was not able to monitor my garden every day as I planned. There were times when I could not check my plants, take pictures, or give them the attention they needed.

Then the weather became another challenge. Because of the strong winds and heavy rains brought by Typhoon Inday in our area, my backyard garden was affected. Some plants were disturbed, and the heavy rain reminded me that gardening is also about adapting to unexpected situations.

Instead of feeling disappointed, I used this as a learning experience.
I started thinking about improving my garden, especially the drainage system and the proper place for collecting biodegradable waste. I want to maximize our organic waste by turning it into natural fertilizer that can help my plants grow healthier.
And now, I am already on Day 7 of my garden challenge. 🌱

Looking at my little garden today makes me happy because I can finally see some changes. Some seeds have started showing signs of growth, while others are still patiently waiting under the soil. Since some of them were only planted two or three days ago, I know I still need to wait and trust the process.

🌿For this challenge, I planted:
Alugbati
String Beans
Bell Pepper
Saluyot
Cucumber
Okra
And this is just the beginning. I still have more seeds waiting to be planted in the coming days.

This journey reminds me that growth cannot be rushed. Every seed has its own time to sprout, just like every person has their own season to grow and achieve something.
More than growing vegetables, this garden has become my little escape. Spending time with my plants helps lessen my stress, clear my mind, and appreciate the simple blessings around me.

I hope that in the coming days, I will have more time to spend in my garden, improve my planting area, and continue documenting every little progress.

Super duper galing! Watching seeds sprout is a powerful reminder of trusting the process. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but with patience and care, life always finds its way upward. Good job, cheers!
