After the Strong Rain and Flood, Our Backyard Garden Continues Growing Beautifully, Bringing Fresh Vegetables Daily

Hello my fellow gardeners!

After many busy days in church, online work, and my responsibilities as a mom, I realized that I had not given enough time to my garden. For almost one week, I was not able to walk around and check my simple backyard garden. I missed it so much because I was used to visiting it every morning while drinking my coffee.

The strong rains lately were almost like a storm. Since there is a small creek behind our house, the area became flooded because of the continuous rain. Honestly, I felt worried about my plants, thinking they might not survive. But when I finally had time to visit my garden again, I felt so happy and thankful because they were still alive and growing.

Even though my backyard garden is simple, it helps me a lot. After our fiesta celebration, we already got tired of eating too much meat, so I decided to harvest some sweet potatoes and cucumber from the garden. It feels different and fulfilling when the food comes from your own backyard.

I was also surprised to see that the beans seeds I had kept and set aside already started growing and are now ready to be planted. I had been looking for these seeds in our local agri supplies, but I could not find any. I even planned to order online, but it never happened because now I already have my own seedlings ready to grow.

Another thing that made me smile was seeing my squash becoming healthier and stronger because of the rain. The plants are finally coming back to life. Little by little, I feel hopeful that someday I will harvest even more vegetables from this small space.

Our calamansi tree is also starting to bear fruits again, and now we can already use them for our favorite dipping sauces. Simple things like this truly bring joy to my heart.

Despite the heavy rain and my busy schedule, my garden remained alive. It reminded me that growth continues even during difficult and busy seasons of life.

Thank you for reading my story. These are my own pictures and my real experiences from my simple backyard garden. Have a nice day and keep growing wherever you are planted.
