I never liked James, he is a terrible person for what he did lol. On the other hand, you got the ¨good¨ ending, If I remember correctly, lore wise, James never escaped from the town.

Yeah, James is definitely a complicated character, and what he did is hard to justify Silent Hill 2 does a great job of making you question everything about him And yeah, I got the “good” ending, but the lore makes it clear that his fate is never truly a happy one
