Crownrend - It Was Fun While It Lasted

Hello! It's my fourth post in the Hive Gaming community!

It has been about two months since I tried out this new game on Hive, called Crownrend!

A quick recap, I actually chanced upon this game and so I paid 10 HBD to sign up for the game!

And regrettably, I think I am almost done with this game.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned about the "tipping point" (you can read more about it here). The main gist of my message was:

And my worry is not unfounded. Because I think each day, more and more players are approaching this tipping point, and when it makes no mathematical sense to upgrade the stats, then there is no point playing this game (unless you are willing to part with money for the entertainment of the game) because every day would be a loss and there is no way to be profitable at all. And that's why we are seeing the big drop in the price of DENAR in the recent days. So my personal thought is that the Crownrend team would need to do something to address this issue. It could be a new rule or a new development to the game. Until then, I foresee players giving up on the game once they reached the "tipping point".

Back then, DENAR was trading at 0.07 Hive (down from the initial highs of 0.60 Hive). Fast forward 18 days to today, DENAR is trading about 0.02 to 0.03 Hive.

I mean, I am not trying to claim any credit or score any brownie points, because I can't be the only one that saw this coming, right? Unfortunately, there were no major changes to the gameplay since my last update, and this has led to the price of DENAR dropping by the day.

As for me, I think I have more or less reached my "tipping point" where it takes me a minimum of 7 DENAR to upgrade any stats to rectify the unrest. If one were to work out the math, there isn't much value add at this point, which is why I have made the decision to call it quits, unless something changes.

Crownrend is still a great concept as a game, but it's definitely a pay to play rather than a play to earn at this point. And reality can be harsh sometimes in this play to earn ecosystem, there's tokenomics to consider, there's bots to exploit, and many other considerations. In any case, I had a fun journey across the last two months, and it was an interesting experience, so thanks to the team for everything. But sadly, it's time for me to move on and it was fun while it lasted.
