BIG updates to Serfdom and Sorcery

As many of you know and have seen, we have continuously been working hard on our Discord game Serfdom and Sorcery - an 'always-on' text battler RPG where players can earn tokens, buy items and level up their character to battle monsters in the quest to be the best.

One of the main challenges we have faced is exploitive behavior from players (mostly from outside of the HIVE ecosystem). Did I mention that this game is a HIVE onboarding magnet that we are starting to get featured in Discord's that are not even HIVE related? More on that another day.

Today our strategies to combat bad behavior completely change - so read on to find out more!

Changes to DBLN: in-game STAKING requirements

Our benevolent Overlord has finished coding the ability to stake DBLN tokens in-game (fully explained down below), and this is going to change things - and the biggest change will be that multi-accounts are now permitted.

We are still not all that happy with bots, and our terms + service still allows us to ban players that we discover are botting. But an 'official bot license' is in the works, so that it will be available to everyone with a small subscription fee. This should bring full circle our anti-abuse cycle of development for this stage of the roadmap, and these staking requirements are an essential element that will now allow us to sleep better on that front.

Withdraws of DBLN require in-game staking

From now on, withdraws of tokens to HIVE (or other chains 👀) will be limited based on the amount of DBLN a player has staked in the game. The current formula for this is the following:

There are clear tiers here, which give more benefits to those players who are more committed to the game. This should soak up a bit of DBLN token in the mean time while we get back to work on adding new in-game features, quests and options.

An additional benefit, for those who have at least 300k DBLN tokens staked in game, is 10 Huge potions delivered every 24 hours. This is also subject to change, but keep this in mind as an example of additional benefits we will be offering to those players who show the committment to stake tokens in game. They will be able to do more and get farther, faster.

Desired effects

With this change, we are sure that we will not have to waste nearly as much time hunting and tracking exploiters - after all saving time is the point of automation! By putting the right incentives in place, we will be able to free up our time to get back to doing what we love and what we do best - building and improving great gaming experiences for our players - as well as marketing the cool things we have to offer to a wider audience, especially outside of HIVE.

The HIVE ecosystem remains small, unnoticed, and extremely powerful. Our PsyberVerse gaming ecosystem will continue to expand and Serfdom and Sorcery is quickly becoming the premier 'bridge to HIVE' that players from around the world can access with only a Discord account.

Big number results are still in the small 'start-up' phase. But as we continue to move forward, and as the market's turn from cold winter to budding spring - we will see these efforts pay off into huge dividends, of this we are completely confident.
