Hello Hive Gaming Friends!

I hope you guys will enjoy my adventure into the post apocalyptic setting of Metro Exodus! a little back story with my history with the Metro game series, I first found the book series to begin with and fell in love with the world, setting and characters. It quickly became my favourite book and at the time there was only one "Metro 2033" years later it became a video game and it exceeded my expectations.

Everything was almost how I imagined it to be in my head, to get to play my favourite book was a fantastic experience! the game became a decently big hit with its own cult like following which then transpired into Metro becoming a series of games. Currently there are three Metro games, Exodus is a continuation of the previous games storyline, which do not strongly follow the books. It also somewhat changed into an open world-ish game for Exodus.

Metro Exodus is a 2019 first-person shooter game developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver. The game is the third installment in the Metro video game series, which is based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's novels. It is a sequel to Metro: Last Light and the book Metro 2035, and follows protagonist Artyom and his crew as they flee the Moscow Metro and set off with their allies on an intercontinental journey through Russia and parts of Kazakhstan on a locomotive called Aurora

we start our journey today with a flashback of what times were once like, memories long forgotten! The intro gives a brief recap of what life is like within the Metro world and dreams of living on the surface once more.

I awoke within some ruins of an old building. We play as the main character in book and game versions of Metro; Artyom Chyornyj. He has dreams of living once more upon the surface and no longer hiding away within the Metro tunnels, nobody believes it can be done or SHOULD be done.

Radiation is high, monsters exist and roam the streets, and survival is not guaranteed. But Arytom is a STALKER.

Stalker (Russian: Сталкер, singular) is the general term in the Moscow Metro, as well as parts of Poland and elsewhere, for any individuals who venture to the irradiated surface for valuable supplies - often risking life and limb to keep the whole community alive

Throughout all our previous runs to the surface as a stalker during the Metro games we are always partaking in secretive side missions for the sake of the storyline, to determine if life is out there or possible to maintain. Arytom is forever on the hunt for answers and it seems we have not stopped with Metro Exodus.

Upon our exploration of this ruined building, I stumbled across a stash bag full of ammo for my journey ahead. Thankfully as my shotgun only had two shots to begin with.

I stumbled my way through the dark and narrow passages of once crumbled buildings to find my way back within a tunnel to the Metro system. It seems our job for today is done and our aim is to return home.

I lit my way through the spider-ridden cobwebs with the infamous bullet lighter Artyom carries. We are also equipped with a crank-powered battery flashlight which dimmers over time as the power decreases.

A Warming

Upon our journey back within the tunnels we came across a deceased individual. Who knows how long they have been here? With an ominous message scribbled upon the wall- I can only presume it is a warming of what is ahead.

I did manage to kill a few creatures upon my walk back within the tunnels when I was ambushed and knocked over, apparently unable to get up but thankfully within range of my station. Our comrades heard the commotion and came to assist, pulling me back to safety.

After I was assisted to safety and checked over by the doctor, I was allowed to move around to regroup with my saviors and celebrate today's victory.

I stumbled across this table which I found very entertaining, great product placement for the book series all throughout this game! you will constantly see the Metro books in various places, smart 😂

ONE WEEK LATER

No rest for the wicked as they say, it seemed we took some time to recover from our wounds from that recent battle and journey back home before we returned to action...

Here we meet Anna; Arytoms wife. She knows of our ever constant search for evidence of live upon the surface, or someway to make it habitable. She is worried for us, every time we go to the surface is another chance we may not return, in search for what?

Upon a brief conversation with Anna, we headed our way out of the crumbling rooftop we were stationed on to return home. We stumbled across a hoard of "watchmen"- the mutated wolf-like creatures.

We trekked further forward after the narrow miss of the hoard continuing our conversation about the risk of this ever-constant search Arytom adventures upon, before we heard the rumblings of a train? on the surface?! that means life exists up here!

With all the excitement of the train passing through and the unbelievable sight before us, when a car pulled up we thought it was our comrades regrouping with us to chase after the train! But we was wrong.

We seemed to have been captured by soldiers from the Metro tunnels. They are not soldiers from the order. why have they taken us prisoner? amongst Arytom and Anna, two civilians were taken captive too. We asked them which metro station they come from, and why are they on the surface?

to our surprise.. they never came from the metro, they have lived on the surface this whole time. they say they live in a little village not too far from here, although the monsters are vicious and dangerous, They still manage to survive.

We do not have to live within the tunnels any longer.

Before we knew it the vehicle stopped and the soldiers demanded the elderly couple to get out! without their masks and gear, it would almost be a certain death! But we suspected they would not let them leave alive... so I had to act.

My efforts were in-vain as the soldiers comrade tossed me off of him to be greeted by the ends of their barrels. They had shot me and I stumbled back into the hole beneath... followed by two more shots.. they had killed the civilians.

Their bodies fell upon me as I struggled to stay conscious.. They still have Anna!
