Voted... I think if someone doesn't even put in a tiny bit of effort (regardless of being honest about it) they should not be rewarded. I know the future is AI and it's amazing to clear out spelling errors or even formatting, get ideas to write about etc, but the people literally copying and pasting something generated by ChatGTP should imo not be rewarded..
I understand there's a level of not knowing it's a bit of a no-go, so educating them and guiding them a bit is what I think is a better idea. Why change the ways of copy paste if it's rewarded? There's an incentive to keep doing what they do, which I think we'd want to avoid to make sure their accounts are not on the radar of whale downvoting them.
In the end that doesn't reflect well on the community you're building :)
A very reasonable take! I think we're going to get some interesting perspectives here.
I try to look beyond the NOW and see how things could get out of hand real quickly and reflect bad on the community if things are considered ok and normal. Why change habits that are so low effort but gain rewards (remember how 1 dollar can be low to some but a lot to many) while you can only maybe 5 or 10x this by putting in a lot of effort (on average).
It's simple math, people who are used to taking the easy route, will keep doing so. If not guided properly. I would like to see this community grow instead of become a target at some point because it has a bad reputation due to what is voted for.
I am just one voice but I've been around long enough to hopefully understand the consequences if the community votes one way or the other.
Let's see what happens :)
