This is quite thoughtful. Talking things out is one of the best ways to help reduce the pressure and possibly not find a solution from someone or somewhere we were not thinking about before.
I've been one to box it up in my head but I later realize that it's okay to talk to someone.
Absolutely, a lot of have the same tendency to keep things inside. We see it as a sign of weakness to express ourselves - and from a cultural standpoint, this is quite common, including in my own culture.
Here, it's ok to ask for help. You're just a human here, along with the rest of us, and deserve to have a humane conversation if that's what you need. This is what matters.
You're right. Having a humane conversation matters. Culture as we see it has been constructed to create more problems than it could ever solve.
I think we suffer from cultural norms and standards, even more, today because everyone wants to do what is acceptable, which isn't always satisfactory to our soul and existence. Sometimes doing the opposite of what the crowd does might just be the right thing to do even when it means talking about your vulnerability with others instead of becoming complacent and entitled like we will be the first ones to be faced with difficulties.
