If you are having trouble getting people to participate in one vote, I don't think adding 4 more is going to help.

I think the problem was that there were too many options in the prior one. 24 things to go through (8 options per category) is a lot. Frankly, I don't think I'd be able to concentrate enough to do that in a single read either.
Give 2 options per category, and later 4 with reward incentives... people might read it and vote.
