CyberSpace77 v0.20 released — Video becoming a first-class citizen on hive and bringing much needed transparency to the hive proposals system, and much more.

Die neue Cyberspace Version ist da. Damit is die Cyberspace App beinahe mit den bisherigen Social Apps Feature-Complete, bietet aber bereits sehr viele Verbesserungen und neue Innovationen, die es auf hive bisher nicht gegeben hat.

Die Idee ist von der angestaubten Blogger und Reddit-Ausrichtung eine moderne, open-source Social Media App für Hive zu entwickeln, mit so wenig Zensur wie möglich, die sogar lokal auf eurem Computer laufen kann, ohne zusätzliches Backend und Abhängigkeit von einem einzigen App-Anbieter. Gerade eine Krypto-App mit Wallet-Funktionen muss Open-Source sein. Das ist ein Muss, kein nice-to-have Feature.

Auf CyberSpace77 seid ihr daher keine Blogger mehr, sondern echte Krypto und Cyberpunks.

Das Update macht jetzt Videos zu einem vollwertigen Bestandteil der Plattform, Videos werden jetzt direkt im Feed so wie auf X automatisch ohne Ton gestartet und, wenn sie wieder aus dem Feed gescrollt werden, pausiert.

Damit wird der Feed viel lebendiger, falls in Zukunft mehr kurze Videos gepostet werden. Um dieses Feature zu nutzen muss das Video allerdings direkt im Post vor einem Preview Bild eingebunden werden, bei 3speak Videos werden die Videos gegenüber dem Preview Bild bevorzugt.

Weiters unterstützt Cyberspace jetzt auch mehr Video Formate und Video URLs von skatehype, peertube, rumble, odysee, dtube, tiktok, und twitch.

@skatehype.com ist eine neue Video-Plattform auf hive, der Player unterstützt aber leider noch keine Autoplay-Funktion.

Auch selbstgehostete Videos oder Links zu mp4 Dateien können jetzt einfach mit dem Pasten des Links in den Post eingefügt werden.

Oder ihr lädt das Video oder den Short direkt auf 3speak hoch.

Das zweite große Update betrifft die Witness und Proposals-Übersicht. In der App, auf das Logo links oben klicken und dann DAO auswählen.

Die Übersicht liefert jetzt vor allem für das Proposal System eine noch nie dagewesene, aber auch sehr notwendige Transparenz.

Ihr könnt jetzt genau verfolgen, welche Proposals wie viel hbd bekommen haben, das nach Usern und Projekten sortieren, und auch die HBD Stabilizer Proposals ausblenden.

So wie immer birgt ein komplexes System wie das auf Hive bestehend aus HBD (algo Stablecoin), dem HBD Stabilizer, und den Hive Proposals leider auch extrem viel Korruptionspotential. Das ist heftig. Aber auch so wie im echten Leben.

Überprüft daher euere Votes und votet für das Return Proposal, um eure Mitsprache bei den Proposals zu sichern.

The new Cyberspace version is here. With this release, the Cyberspace app is nearly on par with existing social apps in terms of features, but it already offers a wealth of improvements and new innovations that haven’t been available on hive before.

The idea is to move away from the outdated blogger and Reddit-style approach and develop a modern, open-source social media app for hive—with as little censorship as possible—that can even run locally on your computer without an additional backend or dependence on a single app provider. A crypto app with wallet features, in particular, must be open-source. That’s a must-have, not just a nice-to-have feature.

On CyberSpace77, you’re no longer just bloggers—you’re real crypto and cyberpunks.

This update now makes videos a full-fledged part of the platform, videos automatically play without sound directly in the feed, just like on X, and pause when scrolled out of the feed.

This makes the feed much more dynamic, especially if more short videos are posted in the future. To use this feature, however, the video must be embedded directly in the post before a preview image; for 3speak videos, the videos take precedence over the preview image.

Furthermore, Cyberspace now supports more video formats and video URLs from skatehype, peertube, rumble, odysee, dtube, TikTok, and Twitch.

@skatehype.com is a new video platform on hive, but unfortunately, the player does not yet support an autoplay feature.

Self-hosted videos or links to MP4 files can now also be easily added by pasting the link into the post.

The second major update concerns the Witness and Proposals overview. In the app, click the logo in the top-left corner and then select DAO.

The overview now provides unprecedented and much-needed transparency, especially for the proposal system.

You can now track exactly which proposals received how much HBD, sort them by user and project, and even hide the HBD Stabilizer proposals.

As always, a complex system like the one on hive, consisting of HBD (an algorithmic stablecoin), the HBD Stabilizer, and the hive proposals, unfortunately also harbors an extremely high potential for corruption. That’s a serious issue. But just like in real life.

So please check your votes and vote for the Return Proposal to ensure you have a say in the proposals.
