What about sps?
Playing modern without sps in stake is waste of mana.
Renting sps is really cheap and you don't need much.
You can always transfer some liquid hive to hive-engine and buy dec for sps rent or buy summoner few bcx.

you can play with full gold foil team, but without sps you will still not earn any sps.
