Battle report: Flawless victory with Possibilus the wise

I am happy to share another battle I was involved in. The ruleset was close range which means all unit have close range ability. But of course, for a unit to utilize this ability, it has to be a ranged attack monster. The mana cap was 47, so that's enough for me to pick my preferred monsters.

My summoner was Possibilus the wise. For me, this summoner is ever reliable. It grants reach which is let's me use melee attack monsters from whatever position I want. It also increases the health of all my units by 2.
Here's what my line up consists of:

  • Giant Alpine Skunk occupied the first position. This is the perfect monster for this position given its health and armor stat added to the fact that it has a good melee attack power

  • Nerissa Tridawn as always, is dangerous from any position, but this time, occupied the second position. With a magic attack power of 3 and massive health stat, it is suitable for this position.

  • Wave Brood occupied the third position. Its taunt ability makes it a target for enemy monsters, giving other friendly units the chance to attack

  • Flying Squid occupied the fourth position. With it's attack power and health stat, it can do some serious damage

  • Deeplurker occupied the fifth position. It's opportunity ability is one thing that makes it very desired. This monster was very instrumental to me winning this battle.

  • Tide Biter occupied the sixth position.

My opponent used Thaddius Brood as summoner. The line up consists of Cursed Windeku, Disintegrator, Dhampir Stalker, Supply runner, Tokatag Conscript, and Life Sapper.

Round 1

As the battle started, 5 out of 6 of my monsters were debuffed so their attack powers were reduced by 1. This affected my melee and magic attack monsters. My tank was attacked first but Deeplurker launched an attack back. Deeplurker was one of my most instrumental monsters as it caused most of the damage to the enemy units. Deeplurker attacked Tokatag Conscript and Lifesapper consecutively, eliminating both of them instantly.

Round 2

My units combined to attack cursed Windeku which occupied the first position. The thing about Cursed Windeku is the fact that any unit that attacks it, gets attacked with the thorns ability. So all of my units that attacked it, faced the thorns in retaliation. Eventually, cursed Windeku was eliminated after a final strike from great alpine shark. Disintegrator became the enemy tank. My units attacked it but were also attacked. Due to its taunt ability, Wave brood which had 13 healths at the start of battle, got attacked to the point where its health remained 3.

Round 3

Disintegrator got attacked by Deeplurker and got eliminated. Deeplurker also attacked the opponent's Dhampir Stalker, diminishing its health to 1. Dhampir Stalker was finally eliminated by Giant alpine skink. Supply runner was the last enemy unit remaining but it got eliminated by attacks from Giant Alpine Skink and Nerissa Tridawn. I won the battle with all six of my monsters intact
