Splinterlands Conclave Arcana: FREE Wild Season

It has been a while that I have written about Splinterlands but I couldn't ignore the launch of the new set: Conclave Arcana. It looks very promising is the least I could say as there are 10 new abilities which are launched together with all the cards. I will probably write about these new cards in a next post. For now, I want to explore wild mode. As it's completely free of charge to play in wild for the moment. As you can read in this official post: The fee to play in wild is completely free this season. So take advantage and explore wild mode would be my advice!

My first wild game after months

Okay, I won but as it was a surrender it's not really usefull to explain my tactics. So let's play another game and see where it gets us.

Now I had more luck, I found an opponent who was willing to play a game. It was a 33 mana game with as ruleset Melee Mayhem. This means that melee monsters can attack from everywhere, thus giving them a quite big advantage.

I decided to go for a tank in the first position who has the ability Shield as I expect the opponent to utilize a lot of melee monsters. For my attacks, I bet completely on Quora and her bloodlust. Besides the tank and Quora, I utilize monsters which have abilities which nerf the opponent his monsters, like draining their attack and speed. Let's have a look how it turns out. But first let's see against what kind of enemy I am fighting.

My enemy went for monsters with shield ability as well as nerfing my armor. Furthermore he went for some magic attacks as well. So it will be interesting who will be able to tank and if I manage to get the Bloodlust of Quora going.

This is the result at the beginning of Round 3:

As you can see, Quora's Bloodlust started to stack. It gave me a good feeling that we will get there. As Bloodlust is quite powerfull BUT you have to get it started to take off. Once it starts to take off, it usually works out. As you can see, my opponent decided to play a summoner which allowed him to utilize a Gladiator card as well but he didn't utilize one. Maybe he doesn't have gladiator cards yet or there is another reason, who knows. But to me it seems kind of a waste of an ability of his summoner.

At the start of round 5: the table looks like above. As you can see, Quora is stacked quite well, so it's already a won game. As she has together with bloodlust, also the heal ability, so even when she would lose health, she would be able to heal it (partly).

Conclusion

As it was my first game of Splinterlands after months and so far, I don't have many new cards, so playing in wild is the best option for me. Luckily for me, it's now completely free to compete in wild for the whole season. See it as a thank you from the Splinterlands team to celebrate the launch of the latest set: Conclave Arcana.
