The cards you get with the Gladius Case are Gladiator cards, which can be used in brawls, in specific rulesets that allow their use, or with some summoners that have the ability that lets you use a Gladiator card.
This limitation of using a maximum of one card from this collection and only being able to use them in specific situations is because all Gladiator cards are generally strong and possess an ability that makes them extremely powerful and capable of winning a battle on their own: Bloodlust, which gives +1 to stats when you land the final blow on an opponent.
These are precisely the cards we can obtain in Gladius Cases by collecting 2000 Merits by participating in Brawls or exchanging glints for merits in the Glint Store. Over the last few seasons I've been collecting merits and opening Gladius Cases, but I haven't had the opportunity to talk about what I obtained, since there was always some news or update that came first.
So, I ended up deciding to keep track of the results of the openings - which occurred at different times - and make a single post talking about the 35 Gladius cases opened, about this collection, the cards obtained, the card upgrades obtained on the Gladiators cards, and the current state of my Gladiators cards - average level, how many are missing, strategy, among other things.
I'll be much appreaciated if you Votes, Reblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
What can you expect from 35 Gladius Cases in Splinterlands?
The first opening was 6 Gladius Cases, which included a special Tatiana Blayde. Now I only need one more copy for her to reach level 3 and get the Inspire ability, which will grant +1 melee attack to all allies and I believe to herself as well. This was a smooth opening without any upgrades.
Then, a good while later, the merits were accumulating and I managed to open 22 more Gladius cases. Interestingly, I got a Xulax Nightwind, which is a great tank of the death element, and now I have 2 BCXs, needing only 1 more to reach level 2 and get the Thorn ability, which deals damage when attacked by melee, making it perfect for both mages and melee.
Besides this legendary card, during this opening I also got an epic, which was Gorth, but in addition, two cards managed to level up. The first was Alva the Crusher, which reached level 6, gaining +1 HP.
The second, Alfredo, reached an extremely interesting level, which was level 5, where it gained the Close Combat ability and became a very usable card in a low mana scenario, now that it can attack in the first position as well.
Finally, we have the last 7 gladius cases, which interestingly include the arrival of Larissa Kerato, a card with a lot of firepower, since it has 2 magic attack and double strike, increasing the chances of activating bloodlust, but it has low defense, since it has no shield and only 3 HP. Now with one more BCX it reaches level 2.
