Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Overcoming Quora Towershead Twice

Time flies! Just completed the 174th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

• Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

• Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 5 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

• We Got 4th!

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 10 guilds and got 485 Merits and around 20 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! A very good finish this round!

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I won 3 of them this time! Finished 5th within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there was 4 additional wins for me.

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Everything was well set up in this battle. With Rebirth and Snipe in play, Venari Marksrat was slotted in the 2nd position to send the Martyr boosts to the adjacent cards. With Astral Entity around, this meant Venari Marksrat was revived twice and boosted Martyr 3 times! Skok Duskblight was boosted to 5 Magic damage as a result and was just too powerful! Easy win!

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie and Sola Ranjell

This was supposed to be a tough battle! My opponent had a Tactics summoner. And the dreaded Quora Towershead. As well as a support healer. This was one of the toughest combination to overcome, but what a miracle, Iziar was spectacular at the front and Sola Ranjell's healing was extremely on spot to save Iziar from a couple of near death situations. And then the rest of the cards in the backline huffed and puffed at my opponent and finally managed to win a perfect 6-0! Would think I got all my tactics right!

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie and Sola Ranjell

Same lineup for this battle but came out short. My team had difficulties handling my opponent's tank and Iziar couldn't secure the front this time. Once Iziar fell, the rest could not hold on for much longer.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Orella Abadon

Ouch! Gorth and Orella Abadon paired for the first time in my Splinterlands play and Gorth was lacking in speed for this battle. Being behind in the turn sequence was a disadvantage and it couldn't enough Bloodlust in time to overcome the damage coming from 4 opposing cards.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Orella Abadon

This brawl is quite unusual as I somehow found myself fielding the same 2 Gladius cards for the next battle. Faced with the dreaded Quora Towershead, but Gorth redeemed himself and bravely led the team to a win!

MVP: Gorth

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! 60% win rate this time round! Somehow I managed to win Quora Towershead twice this brawl! Hope to do better in the next brawl!

The Merits are coming in fast and I have enough Merits for my 68th Gladius case! Nothing to see here, just the minimum set of the cards. Still no Quora Towershead. Oh well.
