Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Marisol Contuma Loses Her Debut Battle!

Time flies! Just completed the 184th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

• Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

• Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

• We Got 7th!!!

So for the final result, we were 7th out of 10 guilds and got 485 Merits and around 11 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! But definitely room for improvement for the position.

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I won 4 of them this time! Finished 6th within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 2 additional wins for me.

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Krash Wanderford and Orella Abadon

This Little League battle was a tricky one because I had to grapple with a Fire lineup, which wasn't really my strength. Nonetheless, I packed my team with Melee attackers and the Sneak, Opportunity and Snipe attacks threw my opponent off guard and secured this win swiftly.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

A perfect 6-0 win! I thought the battle will be long drawn because both teams had Djinn Oshannus as the tank. The main difference this time was that I had a healer and the healing made things very difficult for my opponent. As the rounds went on, I closed in on the win as my team took down their cards one by one.

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Marisol Contuma and Larissa Kerato

This could have gone either way depending on the "luck" factor of the Scattershot hits because they contained Blast. Unfortunately, it was so close and I lost by just 1 turn and I could say it's bad luck for my team. Both teams came out with strong lineups so this wasn't a surprise outcome. Unfortunate that Marisol Contuma lost its debut battle. Hehe.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth

Just as I mentioned I had bad luck in the earlier battle, I got quite lucky in this round as I won by 1 turn. Low mana battles always throw up surprises and my opponent took full advantage of Weapons Training and it was a challenging lineup to fight against. Fortunately, I had enough in my tank and my hits landed accurately and scrape through with a win.

Battle 5 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Bertrol Gobson

Even with 6 full cards for this Equaliser battle, I was not able to fight against just 1 Quora Towershead. Nothing to say at this point as this card is just too overpowered for so many occasions - and I don't have one.

Battle 6 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

I made a mistake in this lineup by placing a 1 HP tank knowing that Astral Entity was my summoner. The mistake turned out to be costly and I wasted the Resurrection and my opponent earned an easy Bloodlust and this being a low mana battle meant that I didn't have much room to recover and turn this around. We live to fight another day!

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Trapp Falloway

My opponent fielded that interesting ZAP card and actually sabotaged the entire team. But I definitely could see the strategy behind this, given that this was a 13 mana battle and a card with Magic damage would be very deadly. Fortunately, my team rose up to the challenge and all 3 cards did their part and Trapp Falloway completed the brawl with a good win.

MVP: Trapp Falloway

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 57% win rate this time round! Got to do better in the next round!
