Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Badly Beaten

Time flies! Just completed the 259th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

Had 8 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 5th!!!

So for the final result, we were 5th out of 9 guilds and got 300 Merits and around 13 SPS! A good bag of SPS! Who knows how much one SPS would go to in this market?

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I won 3 of them this time! Finished 5th within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there was 1 additional win for me.

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

A very interesting fight because both teams used pretty unconventional cards. Revealer did an excellent job with Stun and that allowed my team overcome the opponent by the difference in damage output.

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Marisol Contuma

Quora Towershead again. It was just not possible to fight a Quora Towershead backed by a healer and yet still have Shield. I managed to hold on for several rounds before my team lost out.

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Alfredo

I tried out the Prophet Rosa strategy with Axemaster and Alfredo but it didn't work this time. I guess it was more difficult to use this in a low mana battle, but it was still a good experiment and learning point.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Larissa Kerato

If one day I ever quit playing brawls, it's likely because of Quora Towershead. It's so frustrated brawl in brawl out, seeing the opponent put out a Quora Towershead and there's just nothing much I could do about it. Yeah, I bet 99% of you reading would say, I could do the same too. But the unfortunate fact is after 259 brawls and 87 Gladius cases, I don't have her yet.

Anyway, this was a crazy battle, a battle that I never thought I was going to win... But we won by just by the finest of margins!

Battle 5 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

The 4th loss for this brawl. Ouch. My team was definitely outnumbered right, my opponent was too strong in this one.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Larissa Kerato

One battle I was too weak, and the next one I was too strong! Back to winning way in this one, and a perfect 6-0 win! Definitely encouraging to know my deck of cards still can produce this strong performance.

Battle 7 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

I was outsmarted by my opponent here, with both of us putting out Venari Marksrat as tanks to extract the Martyr boost. The only difference was that my opponent had a Gladius card attacking via Sneak and that wrecked my entire strategy.

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 42% win rate this time, badly beaten this time, definitely need to improve my form! Let's keep fighting PIZZA 2!
